Buying a westfield, first step, choosing the right one
LoneWolf replied to Rick_Alta's topic in The Start Line
I highly doubt that's possible with a supercharged F20, the engine itself is quite heavy, plus you have all the supercharging bits, rotrex, its oil (sometimes its cooler), intercooler, etc. That is hard to obtain even on a supercharged Duratec, which has a significantly lighter engine... -
I have a carcoon and its not heat that dries your car but dehumidifier through carbon filters its also 100% waterproof with fully attached base double skinned to prevent ice forming inside has a useful opimate type charging system to keep your battery in top condition and should your external power fail it switches over to the car battery and stays inflated, after 3-4 months in there even discs stay shinny like the day it went in I think it would be hard to create the same environment with a poly tunnel i think it would suffer huge condensation issues

@MacJock has hidden his post! I'm not trying to call him out, we're just trying to understand how he's got his weight down to an impressive 550kgs. -

It looks like the O.P. has already gone SORN! -
A good way to protect against that is a carcoon. They're not that expensive tbh.. £400ish new. I reckon one can be made cheaper.. Using poly-tunnel plastic sheeting which isn't expensive. 2x2 wooden framework, staple gun and join the plastic with velcro. For heat. Initially use a diesel heater ducting into the 'bubble' for drying out. Then switch to a few 12v computer casing fans blowing instead. It'll need to have venting the opposite side. When not in use... Roll up the sides, fix to the roof joists. 12v fans powered by a transformer which can also power any LED strips inside if needed.

I do understand and wouldn't pass on anything unless the owner said it was Ok. Thanks.

For sale one pair of FW Stop/Tail lamps with clear lenses. Very good condition and in original boxes. I added these quickly after getting my car. I liked the look and especially the increased safety they offered. Looking for £30 delivered Thanks https://www.bowerspartsonline.co.uk/lighting/rear-lighting/led-rear-combination-lights/98mm-round-led-rear-stoptail-light-outer-ring-for-55mm-combinable-lights-lamps

There are a couple in the register with the plate Q***MTW, but ones burgundy the others purple. Both have 1600 crossflow engines, which looks like what's in the one in the pic. So if it's had a paint job from yellow it could be one of those? Be careful sharing information on FB, the current owners may not want it shared. PS I've not seen it attending the Essex area meets, but that's not to say someone owns it and doesn't attend the meets.

Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AO replied to Rick_Alta's topic in The Start Line
Nope, aero screen, no heater, half cage same as you, no carpets. Yep the Honda engine and box are a fair weight. I agree the sadev is likely to reduce the weight, though I'm surprised by as much as you say? I didn't think the Honda box was 60kg. What weight does the Sadev come in at? Have you had your weight measured or is it a Toybox guesstimate? I've not seen a track focused S2000 below 500kg, it's usually the BEC ones that get that low. -
