Hi, sorry to hear of your accident. I hope you and any passengers are ok. Living where you do, if Howden will allow it, I'd try a grp boat repair yard. Ages ago I had a Dutton Malaga B+, I did rear end damage to it (I span in some rare Dorset snow and hit a lamp post). Living near Poole I went to a local boat yard for the tub repair. At the time I got lucky with British Racing Green spray paint, but with new scanning technology a boat yard may be able to blend gel coat, or match a spray paint to the tub. I hope that helps Gary

Still sobing . Some tiptop ran into me at roundabout traffic lights today and took out my passenger side wheel arch and made a mess of my fw rear valance boot area. Luckily no damage to chassis or fuel tank but it looks like roll bar mounting has been moved a tad. Reported to insurance company howdens. Question does anyone know a good bodyshop in south west that could do the repairs under an insurance claim. The wheel arch is an easy replace the boot tub more of a challenge I suspect. Anyone had experience of how these jobs pan out.

The Funny Place Name Visit Challenge
Captain Colonial replied to Captain Colonial's topic in Local Area Meets, Events & Kit Car Shows
So a spreadsheet as promised - @Stuart Davis AO - Devon Cornwall & Somerset's mob have scored the most individual points so far (individual member names for that entry please and same from @Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative please) and is leading the area challenge by taking a big group to Crapstone, but @Paul Baker - Bristol Bath and Cotswold AO, having visited four different places, is currently leading the individual points challenge: Keep them coming! -

Go there and take a photo of yourself and / or the car with the place name in sight and it'll count! -

I think the rules are quite clear: Your task is to visit these places (indicated by a blue flag on the map) and take a photo of yourself (and if possible, with your Westfield - some locations are not accessible by car) at these places - the name of the place must be visible in the photo. Scoring will be as follows: One point for each WSCC member in the photo One point for each Westfield in the photo One extra point if the WSCC member is in costume One point for your Local Area Separately, there will be one point for every place with Westfield in its name visited (indicated by red flags). Spreadsheet to come... -

It was already there when my dad bought the car! My dad was 6ft1 and drove with a helmet because she's only got an aeroscreen. Some of the welding isn't the nicest... -
Is anyone going to Curborough next weekend? Is it just one day or both? Just thinking of popping over if there are some entries from our Club.

I've never seen a roll hoop with that extra extension on top before! For a tall driver I guess? Or if wearing a helmet maybe? Seems like an excellent idea to me. -

As some of you know, my little green car had its MOT June 6th. Well she passed, and we are going out today for some more familiarisation with driving her. We are planning on going to the Coleshill Auto Breakfast Meet Big Day Out on the 29th as that was the last event my dad drove her to before he passed. If anyone is in the Midlands area and fancies joining me, the more the merrier. https://www.coleshillautobreakfastmeet.org/event-details-registration/big-day-out-all-day-event -
Wow, who do you insure with to get that as a courtesy car - you defo didn’t tick “equivalent courtesy car on the policy!” - but seriously hope your insurance is solved quickly 🤞🙏

Forgive me that again about MNR (but with Westfield also ) Finished video from my first without issues trackday training and first time with hard /ish usage od bike engine Part of track line was the same as I was driving Westfield lata year . Looks that on this section time is similar. But Westfield was on racing slick tyres . And I was used to drive Westfield hard. Mnr was on semislicks yokohama a052 (great tyres btw) . Driven careffuly because IT was first time she was working and all new (including me sitting on wrong side of the car ) . Westfield with plate type LSD. front and rear ARB. Mnr open diff no ARBs etc etc Mnr Mnr vs Westfield

Expanding foam seat v2.0 - DONE!
Andrzej replied to Stuart Davis AO - Devon Cornwall & Somerset's topic in The Start Line
Wow I am impressed that You managed to do it alone without other person pouring foam ! I had a chance recently to really hard test foam seat proper time on track and IT is day and night compared to fixed dimensions grp or carbon shell seat type. Btw the same Day there was 3 formuła 3 cars on tests. The same foam seats "construction" . Also finished with tape. Worth to follow raster and better rather than better looking designs- 1 reply

Geoff101 started following Sabelt 4 point harnesses - free to collect

I have a pair of old Sabelt harnesses that came in my car. Straps are sound and the buckles work but they seem to come loose quite easily so I changed them for another set. They are old and there is a bit of oxidation in the adjusters but if they're any use, paid up club members are welcome to come and pick them up FOC from just outside Bicester (M40 J9).
