    What the postie brought today!

Received today from @Pixie a pair of headlight brackets. Sent on Wednesday afternoon, delivered today morning. (www.przesylarka.pl with UPS ) Thanks again, @Pixie — this allows me to move on with the headlights!

    Seat belt buckle covers

I'll try to unravel this for you @Rednop1 you appear to have an uncanny knack of 'finding' items to put up for sale, which has made me think over the years that you've found them down the back of the sofa! e.g. AP Brake kits long after the factory ran out of stock etc.

Sorry i seem to have totally missed the joke with the 2x laughy faces above or is this where people are having to hide their parts these days so the mrs cannot find them and see how much they are spending on their car

    Mugs

I hope they're dishwasher safe. She's dropped two "commemorative" mugs over the years which is very annoying...

    Happy Birthday rusty

    Thank you
  9. Quite right. Keep me locked indoors so you know where to find me when something I’ve done goes wrong.

National Kitcar Show or Stoneleigh again?

I don't want the Captain wandering around outside. He's far too useful sat at his keyboard keeping the forum and our membership happy!
  11. Are you and @Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AO working together?!? Btw, you’d be amazed what you can access and get away with while wearing a hi-viz. I also recommend a “Motorway Maintenance” sticker on the back of your car and an amber light for beating motorway traffic jams. (I never worked in road maintenance, but it works.)
  12. I'm sure the club would greatly appreciate your assistance, so Don your hi-vis and go find out.
  13. Don’t think he’ll know unless he has a crystal ball. I live locally as I’ve said before, and it changes weekly and without warning. Keep your fingers crossed is my advice. They’re building a huge bridge right outside the Stoneleigh exit, which I presume is to allow HS2 to go underneath the reworked roadway and through the northern section on the showground. One week the road is open, the next week it’s closed. What I do know is that there’s no signs warning you it’s closed until you’re almost on top of it and you have to make a 3-point turn on a B-road. HS2 around here is pretty much a law unto themselves. The road between Leamington and Southam was supposed to be replaced with a temporary road right up until a fortnight before tunneling work began, then HS2 said it wasn’t possible (cost - yeah, right) and shut the road for 18 months requiring a 10 mile diversion.

    Post Ranking

You know, at this point I’m beginning to think you don’t like me Ian, and you’re just finding work for me to keep me busy… For those interested, here’s the ranks: They are obviously adjustable in level name, target level, and levels can be added or removed.

An email today saying I had not paid my subs

Hi Malcolm LONG VERSION: You can ignore it, everything is fine. It’s related to me working backstage on straightening out the recent small issue with unwanted and unexpected auto renewals. I could explain it to you in depth but by the time I finished typing it and you lost the will to live reading it, it’s entirely possible that the Sun might go supernova and bring me sweet relief from forum histrionics. SHORT VERSION: You can ignore it, everything is fine. Sorry for any inconvenience, good sir.
  16. Maybe somebody from the club could reach out to Simon via his email (on this link) and see what info he has about the road issue? https://carshowco.com/replica/

    Post Ranking

Isn't what you are suggesting @GCP17 already in place here - Leaderboard Perhaps @Captain Colonial can explain how it's currently configured, if you're suggesting the levels need tweaking? His response may assist further discussion on this topic as due to an apparent lack of builds/new car purchases, I do agree the forum isn't as active as it used to be.

National Kitcar Show or Stoneleigh again?

You do a great job organising that for us jason. Much much appreciated be east anglia area
  23. Today I received an automated email saying my membership has expired because I have not paid my £35 subscription, which I paid on the 22nd Jan and have a receipt from that date and an entry on my bank statement. Should I just ignore it? Malcolm
  24. Race Retro is on soon. There is still the rally stage area but it's to the right of the main hall as you walk up to it, not sure how much of the site is left where the main kit car show areas were. Hoping it won't be cancelled due to the rain again this year.

    Post Ranking

I know this is just a bit of fun but I wonder if the post ranking system is setting the bar a bit high? Could it not be an incentive to encourage a wider participation - especially for newer members - in the forums? Perhaps you could progress through the ranking based on cumulative number of post views ? Other forums do this and typically after a thousand views you reach the next rank.
  26. I did not know that about Stoneleigh, that would be a real shame for the shows 'first run' if access is not available. Hopefully they can get something sorted.

    Bike Engine Props

Hi Looking for a bike engine props, the split type, ideally Sierra rear R1 front, but happy to adapt. Any help is appreciated. Juls
  28. In order to prevent the club having poor relations with them due to my “thoughts and experiences”, I shall refrain from sharing them - colourful as they are. Stoneleigh is a LOT closer for me (5 miles!), but there has to be a question mark over it at the moment. Those of you familiar will know that HS2 is going straight through the showground and has been causing local traffic issues for years. They are currently reworking the road outside the showground entrance substantially. By that, I mean that road is currently completely shut between Stoneleigh village and Blackdown. Will they get it done in time? I’m not betting on it.
