What the postie brought today!
corsechris replied to Stuart Davis AO - Devon Cornwall & Somerset's topic in The Start Line
Stuff happens, it’s how it gets sorted that matters really…. The list is correct, the setup uses a band clamp at the front and back (silencer pipe to manifold and silencer to curved tip), and the main mount is a curved piece that attaches to the can using a couple of the M6 bolts that hold the end cap in place. It’s a nice neat solution tbh. Currently have the old-school setup with the U bolt and a plate & bobbin, but it’s always been iffy from day 1. After 31 years I thought I should get round to fixing it….. The missing bit is top left in this picture from the parts page: -

That’s annoying! After two broken bobbins, I’ve just ordered exactly the same kit so I hope the get it right for me, and that they sort you out quickly too. Looks like the picking list is wrong, they’ve shipped two band clamps rather than the U bolt thingy. -

More what was missing really. Almost did it DIY but thought I’d patronise Westfield Chesil and buy the exhaust mounting kit. Anyone spot what’s missing?…… …..yep, the mount that bolts to the exhaust. Awaiting a response to an initial phone call and then a follow up email now. So far, not that impressed, sad to say, just crickets at present. Should have stuck to DIY. -

A properly put together car. Whoever buys this will be getting a fantastic car! -
As the seat forms an integral part of the safety system with the seat harness you need to make sure that it will support you in the event of a crash. Especially if you hurtle backwards into something.

More from me, managed to change the offside track rod end as it had some play. Separating the extension from the the ball joint was a pain but I managed it in the end. Will try to get the other done tomorrow but it’s Father’s day so may not be allowed 🤣 -
FOR SALE - Westfield Seight V8 3.9 EFI 1998 Factory built - £14,990
shroppy replied to shroppy's topic in Westfields for Sale
It is fabulous. And as a Seight owner you will know that!! And thank you for your good wishes. I really must sell it now so if anyone is sitting on the fence please be in touch. Nothing could have prepared me for the fun I would have. Trouble is, it seems to get smaller and faster as I get older!! I don't know the connection with Rolex, if any. The previous owner (a lovely chap who didn't want to part with it either) indicated it may have come 'stickered' from the Westfield factory because it was their show car at the NEC. No idea if that is correct. Regards, Nic. -

We have met @Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AO and his travel companions at Tagg Lane Dairy for the last 2 years to see them all off on their holidays and then to welcome them back again. Apart from accessing lusious ice cream at Tagg Lane Dairy it is an exciting thing to do, the atmosphere is quite unique and very enjoyable, plus they are not a bad bunch of guys 😉😍🍦 I have put the 27th June on our calendar and we hope to see you at Tagg Lane. Unfortunately we won't be there to welcome you guys back home as we will be in Switzerland that week. Thanks for inviting people to share your journey 👍- 1 reply

Alex Gaskin started following Seats
-
No need for a ‘proper’ seat even! you could do a foam insert onto the aluminium panels if needs must, the only thing they might check for seats is the rigidity if it’s a high back or if the back doesn’t look well supported enough at the rear.

I need to give the car a shakedown this week and will join if i can. Map files for tomtom will be good as will be without passenger. -
Weather permitting we will be there. I have told my neighbour about the club and he may tag along with me in his Robin. He was thinking this club was only for Westfields, which I've told him that's not the case and he's been looking for people to cruise with for the longest time. He's part of the reason we purchased one after riding in his car and my wife enjoying it. Jealous of your run north trip this is exactly the kind of thing we want to do with the car once we get settled into it and get used to driving it around.

It was quieter than a normal factory open day at GBS, I guess because of the weather forecast but that's ok because there was more cake to go round. Pizza was also available for a small charge, drinks and cakes were free and there were charity tins on the table for you to express your gratitude. The actual weather was dry and sunny until midday, a shower came over and we left at that point. This kept us quiet for a while The Kit Spares shop was open Money was spent Steve is the main guy in the parts department, give him a call if you need anything, he has helped a lot of us (me included) in the past. Steve @Martin Bell - (Bellyboy) Joint East Anglia AO was chauffer driven, thank you John for bringing him and your car. There were some Zero's on display Other cars turned up, all types of cars are invited. A great morning out, meeting some nice people and an offer from GBS for our club to come back and do a factory tour (small charge to cover costs). It would be good to get a multi area meet doing this as it is a good location to get the Derbyshire/Notts, Yorkshire, East Anglia and Peak District areas together. Let me know your thoughts! No run out in the Peak District next weekend as we are all driving the Pennine Way on our Long Way North trip but hope to see you the weekend after. -

Hi, We have the Speed Series on at Mallory again, with our very own WSCC Sprint Series competitors on track so we will be going along to spectate. We did this earlier in the year and had a brilliant turnout! You can either meet us at Mallory around 10am or join our little convoy from the Ashby de la Zouch Services KFC car park (LE65 1JP at the junction of the A42 and A511). We'll be meet at the services at 9am for a 915am depart, with a nice run down the back roads to Mallory. The paddock will be open to the public so you'll get to have a good look at the cars and the newly refurbished and extended cafe will be open as usual. Tickets are £8 an adult and can be purchased here: https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/malloryparkcircuit Entry list is here: Copy-of-mallory-entry-list-Andy-A-copy.xlsx Hope to see you there to cheer our members on!- 1 reply
