Engine setup

Finally Saturday was the day i've been waiting for since November, the rolling road set up.

Well, it was a naff day, so the roof went on and off we went at 9am. standing water and rain all the way.

arrived at 'AB garage' in Queensferry (Chester area). was invited in, made a brew and gave me a place to put the roof and doors once inside.

Adrian was really helpful with the set up. asked me lots of questions and answered lots of mine, nothing was too much effort.

the morning was spent setting up the car and teaching me how to use easimap properly.

standard 135 spec zetec engine, the results are as follows;

FF889078-B6AC-4061-9023-61674A7FD27D-281-00000018C0513C5A_zps4a74b207.jpg

128bhp @ 6,600rpm @ the wheels, so somewhere in the region of 150bhp @ flywheel

and the best bit was the price;

£87.50 plus VAT = £105, now this I was really impressed with as we had been there 3 hours.

The difference to the drive is amazing, On Frasier's (Blink Motorsport) request I got the lamba sensor disabled. the car now runs seamlessly through the revs. A nice amount of popping from the exhaust, but none through the inlet like before, and the 6000rpm rev limiter has been moved up to 6800rpm.

all in all a very happy bunny with the results, drives like a modern engine now.

So good to hear good reports :)

I'm booked in for next Saturday :)

I too have been waiting months to go there, but most of my rally driving mates have nothing but good things to say about him

Are you running throttle bodies?

It will be interesting to see how my ST170 on ZZ6R bike carbs and no cat fairs in comparison to yours

can only say good things about him, really impressed.

My dad had his blacktop with ZX6R carbs done about 6 weeks ago. took him about 3 hours and he paid about £125 in total. he's made up with the results also.

my dads has 115 cams and produced slightly more power at the low end were as mine produced about 10bhp more at peak. mines on Jenvey throttle bodies.

sorry for the late reply, you don't get notified when there is an update on a blog.

I had mine disabled on the recommendation of Blink Motorsport. it stops the ecu trying to adjust the fuelling and making a mess of it.
