Well bought the car back in December and got it home

the car had a slight miss fire and I originally put it down to be running on injection and Westfield building the car with a thermostat bypass on the water system, meaning that it never got up to temperature and inturn running on choke. So the first thing was to alter the water system.

as you can see from the pictures above the original pipe is blocked and then redirected into a new pipe.

the pics above show the path of the new pipe, this was then sent to the modified bottom hose. I tig welded a branch to the existing pipe.

when tested the car then got up to temperature and seemed to run a bit better. the theory was that the water temp had been cold and the ECU just left the car essentially on choke.

next I removed the rocker cover and checked the hydraulic lifters were all working correctly and proved the timing with a timing kit. all was immaculate and in perfect order/condition.

I then ran a bore scope in to the ports to prove that the valves were operating correctly and were in good condition, all was spot on.

next I replaced the spark plugs with some NGK iridium ones also eliminated the coil pack and HT leads by borrowing the ones of my dads Zetec westie.

next was to test/prove the injectors.

after a clean and service they were proven to be working perfectly.

I then refitted the system and fired up, and seems almost perfect.

the cars going on the road in March so maybe just needs a good run/blast. anyhow its booked in for a rolling road set up on the 9th of march.

in the meantime I've fitted replacement pedals that allow proper toe n heal action :)

also fitted some exhaust wrap, to redirect some of the heat from the engine bay now that it runs and controls at the 85 degrees it should.

AB garage in Queensferry, They did a good job on my dads, also seem a nice bunch there.

I am now aware of Blink motorsport in Winsford, "1313" put me on to them and will probably visit there in future.
