Carbon dash drilled and lacquered

I know how we all love a good dashboard post, so here's my contribution :d Spent an unbelievable number of hours in the planning and cutting, considering how few bits there are to it! No comments about sneezing with a mouthful of switches please...

Now I need to be patient and let the lacquer harden before I can polish it and fit the switches

Well I wasn't very patient, so here it is with the switches and dials in place, plus the wireless steering wheel button project...

I am about to fit a carbon dash as well and wasn't aware it needs a lacquer coat, what did you use and how did you go about it?

Hi soot1e, you may not need a lacquer coat, depends on the surface finish you want- I had a few bubbles that wouldn't polish out easily, so rubbed down with 1200 wet and dry (wet) then gave 4 coats of halfords clear acrylic lacquer which can be flattened with 2000 grit and polished...
