Part 8 - Still progressing
Been a little busy of late and not been giving much attention to this build thread. Have accomplished several smaill jobs around the engine bay - air box in place with radiator and cooling pipes installed. Not opted for cooling reroute at this time, but may revisit once I have the majority of the build done and through IVA process. Probably going for engine rebuild over next winter so will do it then.
Shortened Prop shaft back from Bailie Morris and fitted and so now I have turned my attention to the first fitting of body panels - enlisted my good lady to assist with the main tub which fitted easily and with a little trimming here and there sits very nicely. Spent the next 2 Sundays playing and fettling to get good shutlines for bonnet to scuttle and nose cone to bonnet. Everything now covered in a layer of fibreglass dust, but fitting well for first fix.
As I mentioned in last update the steering column is too short and will need lengthening if I am to keep the Mazda stalks in place - under review.
Few days off coming up so will be getting the tub fastened to chassis and then cut hole for manifold and EGR. Then looking to get the engine running over the next week or so.
