Almost Track Day Ready

Had a few things that needed doing over the Winter, but a few electrical gremlins and time flying have seen the list cut back. However the main thing, to get the Westy ready for track days this year, is almost complete. Have a few fixings to sort and fettling to do but finally, it looks how I visualised when I started to make the changes.

Next Upgrades

Had an early morning delivery and took the opportunity to try out my latest purchase Although not an upgrade in itself, it does give a bit of a clue as to what I'm doing to the car next. I've worked out how to do it, have a fabricator lined up and can't wait to see how it turns out. Oh, and I've bought a second engine and have every intention of having it rebuilt to drop in next spring. Watch this space.........

On A Deadline

Back from two weeks in Crete, so not that much has been happening. Westy is now booked in for it's vinyl wrap week of the 10th August, so there's a list of things to do to prep her. Everything is off at the front (makes it easier for the vinyl technician......apparently). And the little perforations at the back are beginning to vanish, although getting the glass matting up behind the holes was just a bundle of laughs! Next post will be when it's all back together!

Pre-lit Westy Dismantle Blog!

There's so many build blogs I thought I'd go the other way....... Seriously though, having a lot of fun and finding my way around the car a lot better, shame it's the best weather this year! Everything is off at the front and being prepared for new paint and the wheels are away for powder coating a new colour. Bespoke mirror finish stainless steel windscreen supports being fabricated to replace the horrible home made aluminium ones, and some carbon and carbon effect goodies are in the post or

Upgraditus.......me?.........never!

How wrong could I have been! There's bits off the car, and bits to come off. My local engineering company are helping out with mods to the rocker cover, to facilitate the new breather system. I've got an oil catch tank and bits from Carbon Mods on their way, not to mention some bodywork to sort out when the spare wheel bracket and carrier come off. Might even change the colour! I've made a list of jobs and a list of what I need. I have this week before I'm off to Crete and then three and a

1987 Pre-lit 7SE

It's just over two months since I took delivery of my 1987 crossflow powered Pre-lit Westfield and so far, all I have really done, is drive it. The only upgrade completed to date was to me, by way of a graphic I produced of the car to go on my "Pre-lit Westy" T shirts. The car.......... .........and the T shirt Having said that, there are a few bits coming off this weekend and being left with my friendly engineering company and hopefully, when I get back from Crete next month, I will hav
