groucher Posted September 23, 2017 Share Posted September 23, 2017 hello all, Well after 27 years of use, my £100 (back then) socket set has about worn out, and I'm looking for a replacement. I would like a good selection of metric/imperial sockets, regular and long reach, with good quality ratchets too, then the usual extension pieces. Spanners included would not hurt, but don't want other tools like screwdrivers or bits included. Depends if you have old oiler engines like Pintos and Xflows , then you will need whitworth, AF and other oddities . Possibly more than your going to be able to carry.. more of a roller cabinate full.... although I have most across the main and spares sets . I would have it for the weekend kit but I would upgrade the ratchet for a Snap on one. Only time it becomes a problem is if you are a mechanic working those tools every day of the week, that said providing your local Halfords are ok, they will keep fixing it!
