Captain Colonial
Just spent 3 hours with a headlight refurb kit working on Lady Chair's car, which was my old 2005 Volvo S60. The car headlights were badly clouded and almost opaque, a definite MOT fail in about a month. Frankly, I held out little hope I could sort them they were so affected by UV light, road debris, and grime blasted in to the polycarbonate surface. Must say that although needing a fair amount of elbow grease and patience, it worked really well. In fact, if I'd spent another 1-2 hous, it would probably be factory fresh, but as it is they're 98% clear and the car will sail through its MOT. £10 kit saved me hundreds in buying new headlight units. But boy, am I ever cold and my arm, hand and shoulder really aches.
CraigHew
Saw Edd China bring lights back to life with a similar kit in a recent wheeler Dealers so they must work. As far as your arm hand and shoulder aching, you should have swapped them over (left and right) every 5 minutes or so. Works a charm.... dombanks
The work really well those kits just need patience. I would have been tempted to take the light off mind and do it in front of the tv

DE04*
I did the headlights on my wifes clio, just start with 1500 wet and dry, wipe dry then compound, wipe off and then polish. Takes about 20-30 minutes each side but comes up like new. Brilliant!!!!
Lyonspride
I've recently done the headlights on my daily barge, 600 grit w+d, 1200 grit w+d, 2000 grit w+d, 2 coats of UV and impact resistant clear coat, 1200 grit w+d, 2000 grit w+d, then 20 mins with a polishing mop with G3 polishing compound. I've heard if you take off the original factory protective coating, the bare lens will be wrecked again in no time if you don't replace it with clearcoat.
