stephenh
I know it is a long shot, but before I put my old spare Volvo wheels on ebay I thought I might offer them on this boardroom. These are a set of 4 genuine Volvo alloys, the rims are fine, but the painting/laquering is not so good. In fact, in my book they are scruffy. However they are genuine and the rims are sound so if you fancy having a set of winter tyres then these are ideal as they are cheap and they save having to pay to have your winter/summer tyres swapped twice a year. At £150 for the set (collected) they'll pay for themselves in 18 months! They are 7.5"jx17", and the pcd is correct for a Volvo V50, so presumably also the S40 (or is it S50?) and I think they will also fit the Volvo V70. However, the offset is et43 whereas my V50 sport should have been et 49. They fitted ok, except the studs were a bit short. I overcame that by using some one piece nuts off my Westfield, which are the same thread and taper. Now the wheels have no tyres on them it would be easy to have the centres machined to take 6 mm. off the mating face if your car also uses et 49 wheels. So, anyone with a Volvo want a £150 bargain? stephenh
Any takers? Any offer considered.
stephenh
Well they've just sold on ebay! First time I've used ebay for a sale. Unfortunately I wasn't sure exactly what model they came off, so my advert wasn't too informative. They made the princely sum of £12.50! I'd have done better "weighing them in" at the local scrap merchant's I suspect. At least they will be out of the way.
