Will Sheppard
Reluctantly I’ve decided to sell my beloved Westy. It doesn’t get the time I’d like to spend so I’ll come back to Westy fun and games at a later stage – not too much later hopefully. I bought my car on this forum in June 2013. Running it has been a great experience and the driving has been massively enjoyable! The car’s been garaged and looked after very well but the demands of kids, family etc. have taken precedence on my time and on the upgrades I wanted to make. The car is reliable, handles very nicely and goes damn quick. I’ve been very impressed with the 2.0 XE engine/megajolt/DCOE45s - rock solid, powerful& torquy and totally reliable (sounds great too!). The car set-up hasn’t been changed as it’s been perfect – the previous owner had it professionally set up for track and road - I’ve only used it on the road. It has not needed a single thing fixing in 15 months of driving! Here’s the low-down: 1990 SE in Red Not factory built Narrow body Correctly described on V5 Tax end of January 2015 MOT late July 2015 2.0 XE engine with 45 DCOEs ARP rod bolts Lighter type early flywheel Megajolt Ignition – car sold with maps, software, laptop and leads. All mapped by Northampton Motorsport - 164Bhp at 6000rpm Small Denso alternator Low profile sump (5ltr) Stainless steel manifold and exhaust Polo radiator with new fan - thermo switch and override switch Ford type 9 gearbox (5 speed) with Yukspeed bellhousing Rs2000 3.54:1 open diff, new oil seal 2 yrs ago New clutch 7000 miles ago Alloy uprights Alloy front hubs Alloy bodied AVO's all round New discs and callipers 2 yrs ago Mintex 1144 pads (nearly new) New quick steering rack 2 yrs ago Chrome front suspension - in good order 15" Revolution 5-spoke Alloys Previous owner had professional suspension setup Removable steering wheel Tonneau, with zip down the middle, so can be used as half tonneau Full wet-weather gear Lots of gauges - oil temp & pressure, volts, amps, water temp, fuel. VDO electronic speedo and rev counter. 2 speed Heater Fuel cut off switch RAC type roll bar with struts 4 point Willans Harnesses Bodywork in good condition for its age - a few marks Interior a bit old and out of date No leaks apart from a tiny oil leak around sump plug – drip tray collects a miniscule amount per year. I think the car is a great base for lots of cosmetic upgrades. It’s extremely fast, and spectacularly reliable. Hence the price £6000 ono ....... now £5500 ono Contact 07941 350 808 / wilsheppard@yahoo.com
