Robust?  I’ve no idea what you mean.

In that, if he is re-listing the part a lot, making hard to keep track of the current listing number, his seller id will probably not change, and hence remains a stable way of finding the seller and hence items. Links as below.

Just doing a mock fit of the alternator to my silvertop zetec, it seems the original tension bar won't line up with the bolt hole on the alternator

Any suggestions?

I drilled the 8mm thread out

Got some 8mm threaded bar bent 90 degree at the end to pass through

The bar then heads toward the rocker cover, secured by a bracket bolted to the head lifting eye bolt hole

With the pulley off the zetec alternator a 900mm 4 ribbed belt fitted perfectly

If you want to go the turn buckle approach, McGill Motorsport is an excellent source for the right and left hand threaded rose joints, along with the right hand/left hand threaded bit in the middle. Good prices too.

Here you go, turnbuckle links, clicky

If you want a more budget version of the rose jointed turnbuckle, try a chandler/boat yard, they usually have turnbuckles available for tensioning lines on boats.

A question for the guys running the small alternator

last night I finally set about swapping over the pulley wheels and when I came to fit the original pulley to the denso alternator the shaft is about 2mm thinner than the hole of the pulley, did any of you have this issue?

Yes,i did post it somewhere

A denso is 14mm shaft - standard ones are 17mm

You can make a little shim to hold it true

I filed down a steel dowel and cut a slot in it so it opened up to slide on the shaft

I was going to use a 15mm copper olive but couldnt find one

Once its central the nut will hold it secure
