Using the Enterprise Bold Italic font and Fusion 360, I created a copy of the Westfield badge that @Marcus Barlow - Show and Events Co-ordinator used to sell and printed it on my 3D printer (.STL attached).  Brass screw inserts sit on the back and then some thin aluminium was used to create tabs that hook into the back of the grille.

A few coats of primer followed by gold paint and lacquer makes it look convincingly metal

The nose cone on a SEiGHT is incredibly difficult to remove due to the cowling around the radiator, so to make life a little bit easier, I started to fabricate some brackets that hold the weight of the radiator, allowing me to use two hands to remove the nose cone.

I used two flat bar pieces and made a small indentation in the ends in which the cowling slots in.  Also used some Hammerite on the chassis and brackets as it was showing signs of surface rust.

As promised earlier in the year, I wanted to get rid of the (imho) awful bars on the nose cone.  First I needed to remove the peelable paint though, and after soaking a microfibre cloth in white spirit it was relatively (if not smelly!) easy task to get it back to before.

Last month I removed the arch protectors and filled the holes left behind, ready to be wrapped.  What I didn't realise was that vinyl wrap really needs to be done in warm temperatures (20C or higher) otherwise the vinyl wrap turns brittle and unflexible.

So plan B.  Bought a couple of cans of FullDip Matte Black and SuperGloss peelable paint and masked off the area to be painted.  The idea being that it will last as a temporary cover which can be replaced when the outside temperatures have risen.

About 6 coats of black and 4 coats of gloss and the result looks acceptable.  It is not as tough as I hoped for, but it will do for a few months.

As a tall person, I hate filling up the car (and with an average 18.7 MPG I'm on a first name basis with my local forecourt).  The solution is easy, moving the filler to the top.  That did involve removing the angled part of the fuel tank, but I devised a way of doing it in-situ by using a sponge jammed into the filler neck which blocked any debris/swarf from entering the tank itself.  Then a simple 90 degree hose and a hole in the boot panel to finish it off.

Just need to find something to hide the hole in the back...  but I've got a plan for that

On recommendation of Jody, I sourced an idle control valve / stepper motor which controls the idle by passing air into the plenum chamber upon startup but because my rocker covers where installed in such a way that the hose connecting to it would have to run the long way round, I went down the rabbit hole of swapping the rocker covers around.  This meant cleaning them, installing new gaskets, renewing filter, o-rings, plugs, leads, etc, etc...  Oh well, at least it looks very tidy now!

For a while I was planning to replace my rear lights with something homebrew as I just can not find a nice aftermarket set that I like as much as I did on my previous Westfield.  Having already replaced my fog and reverse lights with those from the LED AutoLamps 82 Series, I thought maybe I should do the same for the indicators and stop/tail lights...?

The old units are quite wide, and these round lights are slightly taller than the space available, so out came Fusion360 and with a mockup of the rear arch part, I designed a holder for them that covers the old fixing holes and follows the arches.

After a few iterations and trial fits, the ultimate design was printed using ToughPLA.

4 captive nuts are embedded in the print so they are screwed on and easily replaced if they are damaged, or if I'm bored with the current design

I've had to replace the indicator relay as the current load is now too low for the original relay.

After a lovely easter breakfast with the family, set off with Q-jr to meet up with Paul to drop off some tools that he'd forgotten to take home.  About a mile in, the engine shut off and we had to coast to a stop in a quiet road.  When turning the ignition the usual 2s fuel pump priming didn't happen, but whilst I tried to find out what the issue was, I ultimately couldn't and had to tow the car back home for further diagnosis.

After some continuity testing and a little experience of having just done Paul's SEiGHT wiring got me onto the ignition relay that seemed to have failed.  After sticking in a replacement, the engine fired up again!

New year, time for action.  Having had a tiny coolant leak for ages it was time to sort it out.  But how the heck do you get the nose cone off when the radiator is part of it?  Turns out it relatively easy.  Just undo the top 3 screws on the duct and the 3 bolts holding the cone itself in place.  Access to the top 2 bolts was a challenge, but with the help of @Nemesis quickly sorted.

The number of joins is incredible, so instead of just tightening the jubilee clips, I'm going to replace the lot.

Last week discovered to my great horror an oil spill on my drive the size of Exxon Valdez left after a drive.  After inspection it turned out to be squeezing oil past the oil pressure sensor, but even after tightening it, it still came dripping out.  Got some Permatex 59214 High Temperature thread sealant and re-assembled it all today.  So far it seems to have done the trick, but I need to take it on a trip (any excuse) first to ensure it remains dry.

Like on my last Westfield, I find the lever arm VDO fuel sender rather inaccurate, so just like on my last Westfield I replaced it with a 280mm sliding dip tube like sender from Seascrew (Marine supplies).  It uses the same hole and shoehorn pattern as the VDO sender and the 0-190 ohm is a near enough match to the 3-180 ohm for the gauge.

Look what the parcel man delivered today!  The JK Composites seats I ordered a month ago; a standard N4246 for the driver side and a modified N3946 for the passenger side to fit in the reduced space that that side has.  Keith stretched the area for the hips to be as wide as possible within the dimensions I had passed to him.  A perfect fit!

Whilst waiting for hardware to arrive for the seat fixings, I started on fabricating a diffuser.  First a template using the tried and tested Cardboard Aided Design that's traced onto the aluminium plate.

Then some strategic bending so it follows the floor and avoids the diff.  And then affix the two centre wings with some rivets.

Need to look at mounting it somehow next, and giving it a coat of paint, but I'm really pleased with the mockup.

Those bobbins I had ordered where way to small, so I got thinking and found a nicer solution by using the old mounting brackets for the number plate/spare wheel holder using some eye bolts.  Will do the final fitting once I've painted the diffuser.

Then it was time to start on the seat brackets.  Got some 3mm thick, 20mm wide steel delivered and after hammering them into submission, drilled them and used some 5mm rubber spacers to fix them to the seats.  Tomorrow time to see how I can fix those brackets to the chassis.

Got the car out of the garage and started it.  It ran straight away but as I'm still SORNed, I could only drive the 30 meters behind the house in the courtyard.  didn't stop me from grinning ear-to-ear again though!

I then went on to service the car.  Thought I'd start on the differential, but couldn't get a T55 socket in so need to get a stubby version of it before I can complete it.  Then replaced the oil with Valvoline VR1 Racing 20W50 and put on a new K&N HP-2004 filter and had a good look at what I need to do for the gearbox.  Finished the day by adding another layer of lacquer on the diffuser.

Using Cardboard Aided Design to get the size right of the side panels.  Thankfully they are symmetrical so I only had to do this once.

Then transferring this to the stitched fabric.

And then the moment supreme, does it fit?

It does!  After that, the tunnel top is easy peasy.

Cleaned the car and masked off one side of the interior in prep for spray glue.  Never done this before so decided to try it in two halves.

This turned out not the best tactic, but any excess glue was quickly wiped off.  And then I realised I'd completely forgotten to clear the harness bolt holes, so poked the holes through and put some bolts in to ensure they remain accessible.

Leaving the other half for next week.

Prepped the bottom side ready for spray glue and then got to it.  Taped it all up and hopefully tomorrow the glue has hardened enough to see the final result.

Then went back to the carpets and completed the final few bits and put some more velcro on the back panel.  Tomorrow will do the same for the bottom pieces.

Before I have seats in the way, I thought it would be a good time to fix the remote gear linkage.  When I collected the car the reverse gear was incredibly difficult to engage, and after doing a little research (and having the tunnel cover off) I discovered that the bushes holding the linkage on the gearbox where perished.  So this week I've been removing the linkage and ensuring that all adjustment bolts can turn freely before putting it back in again, along with new poly bushes.

Now I can finally install my Christmas present, an OMP Trecento steering wheel fitted to a steering boss extender.  And a new gear stick gaiter that fits.  Now all we need are seats and harnesses.

The edging finally arrived, but it was too small to fit, so went with the glossy edge instead.

Then quickly tried it with the roll bar in place to ensure it all fits (just!), but I forgot all about the seatbelt eyebolts, so I have to fiddle a bit to get that fitted on the left hand side underneath the diagonal bar.

It took 3 attempts and many many profanities before my son pointed out that the roll bar was actually resting on the eyebolt.  Doh!  Shortened the collar and it is finally on.  Have only loosely fitted the rest of the bolts as I ran out of light in the garage (left the flashlights on overnight.  Doh!).  Tomorrow just tightening everything up and then we can call it a day...

Continued with stripping out the interior by removing the tunnel top and side panels.  The tunnel top is going to be remade in a single piece of aluminium covered with fabric and attached to the top with some poppers.  Carpets, fabric and aluminium sheet ordered, along with new gaiters.  It's going to look lush!
