Job title Events & Marketing Manager, 750 Motor Club

Location:  Based at the 750 MC office in the Midlands (but with regular travel required to circuits, partners, etc).

Role synopsis: The 750 Motor Club is a not-for-profit organisation which aims to bring together motoring enthusiasts and provide them with a platform for their shared passion and to provide motoring competitions with a particular focus on circuit racing. The club has a current membership of around 1400 and runs race meetings for its 14 championships or series at all major race circuits in the UK and, dependent on demand, will organise about 20 race days per year during the season (typically March-October). In addition, the club organises and promotes events and gatherings for members including Austin A7 events, trials and centre based social events. The club aims to be the leading provider of truly accessible motorsport in the UK, with an emphasis on good value, enjoyable, family oriented motorsport. It is currently one of the largest race organisers in the country with a turnover of around £1million and is governed by a board of directors made up of volunteer club members. To deliver on its aims, the club employs a small team of 3. This role along with an Administration Assistant report to the Club’s Commercial Manager. The Events & Marketing Manager role is vital to the success of the club as it combines the operational delivery of the club’s race meetings and other events with a dynamic marketing role to drive growth for the club in an exciting but challenging market place. The role reports to the Commercial Manager but also has the support of the board members responsible for Marketing, Communications and MotorSport Heritage and will act as secretary for various club committees. Success in the role will be primarily measured by meeting agreed objectives with performance indicators focused on :

• Healthy race meetings: high entry levels, full grids, satisfied customers with social cohesion and effective governance within championships, cost effectiveness, positive meeting margins with entry fees below the competition

• Healthy championships: sustained & growing registrations in current championships, development of innovative new championships. Cost of competing below the competition -both entry fees and total cost of racing (based on sensible championship regulations). Member satisfaction.

• Growing membership

Key accountabilities

Operations: Detailed planning & implementation of race meetings – requiring attendance at all race meetings over weekends and filling official roles at those meetings. Communication of race and championship positions Organisation of various major events (including non-racing events) to support members and grow membership

Sales: Organisation, promotion and implementation of annual championship registration process Organisation, promotion & implementation of race entry process Ensuring comprehensive customer support in place Development and sales of club regalia Development of other sales revenue generating activities

Marketing: Creating & implementing marketing plans for championships, race meetings and all major events Working closely with the Commercial Manager to provide marketing support to projects aimed at boosting Advertising and Sponsorship revenues as well as to key Business Development activities and projects.

Support to Commercial Manager and Admin Assistant – working as part of a close team to deliver projects and tasks to a tight timeline whether in the areas above or any other areas determined by the Commercial Manager or the Board that will ensure the club delivers the required service to members

Essential criteria & qualifications Team player At least 3 years post-graduation experience in marketing and/or event management. A business brain - - able to understand an organisation’s financial and other targets and translate those objectives into actions. Demonstrated strength in organisational & planning skills Strong communication & influencing skills A Self Starter with the drive to instigate and complete tasks on their own initiative Strong IT skills – particularly in the use of core applications: See activity map Full driving license

Desirable criteria & Qualifications: Passion for motorsport Degree in Marketing Motorsport organisation experience or similar.

Terms: Full time role with salary in region of £25k/yr depending on experience. Involves travel across UK in own vehicle with mileage payment. Use of club vehicles may be required. Weekend working required at all race meetings and major events (time off in lieu). Holidays of 20 days per year. Pension contribution after 1 year’s service. is it me................ or that isnt very well paid for working nearly all weekends between March - October.... ???

"time off in lieu" though, so you can take as many Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursday off as you like  :p  :D
