help with plumbing/heating question

Recommended Posts

I will have two (22mm) pipes going from where the boiler will be located. they will go through the upper floor and then there will be 3 rads to the left and 3 to the right.

Question is: is it ok to have "T" joints and feed the left and right from the joint

OR

is it better to make a single circuit without the "T" joints.

Thank you.

Not a plumber but when i did mine 40 odd years ago the way I did it was T off the 22 mm supply and return to each radiator with 15 mm pipe , so you have 15mm supply and return to each rad .

no doubt the experts will be here soon  :t-up:

Ideally need to configure system so that each rad has a supply and return from common headers, so that each rad can be controlled separately.

The two 22mm pipes are your flow and return from your boiler, on the next floor put two 22mm tees on them and in 22mm take them along to the first rad and tee off with a 22mm x 15mm x 22mm tee take the 15mm to the rad, go on from the first rad in 22mm to the second rad and add a 22m x15mm x15mm taking the 15mm pipe to the second rad then run 15mm to the last rad on that side of the house, repete the same for the other three rads. Hope this helps.
