Registered 1989, but extensively rebuilt in 2004 by a Jaguar/Land Rover R&D engineer with approximately 7000 miles completed since (it has 19500 on the clock for what it's worth). The car has been on track 4 times in that period and has otherwise only been used in the dry (I've been caught out in the rain once). It is in superb condition throughout.

Built to be a lightweight minimalist road/track car it's been set up to ride comfortably on the road yet still be strong enough to take track use. The only reason it hasn't been used more on track is also my reason for selling it, I also co-own a sports prototype racing car so I'm simply not using it enough to justify keeping it. Last year, other than a trip to the Nurburgring I only went out in it twice, and one of those journeys was for it's MOT.

The car comes with a box file containing every receipt and all documentation for the car since the rebuild. Also a tailored soft indoor cover and a waterproof 'trackday' cover. A waterproof removable boot-bag and a few spares.

The car was built to be both light, capable and yet cheap and easy to maintain. All of which it is. I still stand by that it's one of the best Westfields I've come across. Don't let the live axle put you off, the way this car is set up with it's bespoke ARBs and new suspension means that it rides fine and is very stable. Only the very roughest of roads will upset it.

Cheers guys. If I could store it at home I wouldn't be selling it (and I'd use it more). We'll see how it goes. I'm not pushing it particularly aggressively at the moment. So I haven't stuck it on PH yet. That seems to do the job but it also tends to bring out the test pilots and tyre kickers which would be fine if it was kept just up the road...

This really is a superb well sorted Westfield; the track photo says a thousand words showing it is very well set-up - can't actually believe it hasn't sold!

Hi Paul, long time no speak!

Everything's chopped and changed a few times since we last spoke.

Currently I have a Porsche Cayman, that replaced the Elise, that replaced the MX-5. I'm utterly loving that, but if the Westie sells I may chop that in against a Spyder as I think I'll miss lidless motoring... I've an old Merc 190E that I trundle around in these days which I'm perversely attached to. There's still the Westie that's better than ever. ...and finally I co-own a Juno SSE with a friend. This is the main reason the Westie is for sale. It's just a mental, brilliant, frightening thing.

Did you ever finish your sprint car?

Thanks nik. I've had a couple of enquiries, but as of yet no one has actually come to see it. I suppose I am asking top money for it, but it'll take that for me to part with it. I suspect that's what's putting people off, but I stand by that you'll struggle to get a better road/track oriented one for the money.

i don't think its top money at all for a proper sorted car on throttle bodies..

the axle placement/anti roll bar set up on this car is VERY tidy, I think its a fantastic do it all westy at verfy sensible money..

Good luck with the sale - and enjoy the Juno - lovely toys

I've just this morning taken a load of pics of the car as it is now. They're HERE. They all are clickable for enlargement. That page is a work in progress so will chop and change as I sort it. But it's sunny at the moment and I've things to be doing outside first :)

Also there was a fella who wanted a close up of the alternator, I've lost your e-mail address dude. But I popped off the nose and took one for you: HERE

FWIW car will shortly have 12 months MOT and the tax runs out in 2012 also.

In the meantime, here's a pic showing me enjoying the royal wedding on Friday:

I think it's because it's not quite a road car and it's not quite a race car. Are mustn't be many people out there (other than me and thee) who want that? Looking like not.

Ah well, I'm going to leave it up on here until I forget about it and it falls off the bottom (nearly missed it!), likewise on PH. Then I'll repeat the whole thing again in Feb 2012.

Fair point. Hopefully people here would click the links, but I've shoved a few more up on PH.

I love that I'm trying to make an effort... Though not... If you see what I mean. I think I'm just trying to convince myself that I need to keep it anyway. But I have to at least try and sell it. I know it doesn't make sense. But if no one wants it then I'll just have to keep it, and that's fine by me. I won't feel as guilty using it as lightly as I do then. :)

There is some logic to this...
