Rear Defuser

Barney, I used to think that big was beautifull.

Now small and light is the way to go.

Still you and John are the right height. :D

But they can't stand next to each other. They generate too much of a gravity well...

Back to the topic for a minute, just a thought ......

...assuming you've got a flat floor as well as a diffuser, should the diffuser have a hole in the rear "flip up", so that air coming in from the nose cone > engine bay > transmission tunnel can exit un hindered out the back of the car, or will it find its own way out via the wheel arches ? ???

Air from the transmission tunnel will bleed off over the sides of the diffuser and out in to the wheel arches (and anywhere else there is a gap), 'cos there's no way to seal them. Another reason why they don't do what they look like they should do...

They do look good though. Apart from keeping the diff cleaner the do add weight ;)

About 3-5kg I would guess at. Some people pay a lot of money to save that :D

Not even close. My diffuser weighs less than a kilo, and that includes all the attached fitting hardware. It's a proper, pre-preg nomex honeycomb Mickmade item ;)

PlaysKool

Diffuser

Fibre-glass rear diffuser measuring 105cm wide by 82cm long and 16cm high at the rear.

These are made in gloss black and have a woven matt finish, producing a strong product. These weigh 3.5kg.

Stange that the carbon one should be more than 3.5 times lighter than a GRP one
