I always thought the worst for attracting headcases was pistonheads but  since looking for a Porshe and researching on a few Porsche forums Ive discovered forum snobbery that is in a different league to anything Ive ever seen  :0  :0 from what Ive seen anything other than owning a 997 Gts rs you are not worthy of a response  :durr:  ???  ???

A lot of Caterham owners also have 911s?  ???

Just kidding. Porsche forums are pretty much the worst out there for badge snobbery. As you say, they go even further and have inter-marque model snobbery. I honestly thought Blatchat could never be outdone, but the many Pork-fora out there really do revel in a level of smugness way beyond that.

It's best to ignore them and remember that it's not the cars fault. As like Caterhams, many Porsches are also very good.

yep thats exactly  my take on it too, reminds me of when me and some pals joined the local golf club all the older generation (coffin dogers) looking down there noses at us  thinking they had more right to play Golf than we did   ???  ******s      :arse:  :sheep:

I think its a combination of many good attributes on the WSCC

1 - People in WSCC love cars........ and have no malice if its a Westy, Caterham, 911, Boxter etc etc its al about enjoying cars

2 - People in the WSCC are from many walks of life with varying degress of income and funds avaibale for their hobby

3 - Networking

4 - Social side

Thats what I think makes WSCC a good forum and as Jeff C said in a different position to Blatchat / pistonheads / turbosport

It depends on the Porsche forum.  Some of the Rennlist subforums are filled with very friendly, car enthusiasts – others, not so much.  It does seem that the petrol head crowd are more likely to buy the older models, so if you are cruising the forums for a current version, you might come across a larger percentage of members who are more…BlatChat-ish  ;)

USA7s.com is another great forum.   The number of se7ens in the US is pretty small, so we started a brand agnostic site that doesn’t tolerate any brand bashing and is all about getting other people into the hobby.  It’s filled with good folks, although not very many Westfield owners  :(    As for how Yanks are treated here, I’ve been on WSCC since I bought my car 9 years ago and have always been treated great.  Of course, I try to refrain from posting dashboard pictures, and set my internal spellchecker to English GB :D

Now that was a classic!

I think the essence of this forum/boardroom or what ever you call it is just like your relationship with your mates, you have to be able to take the P**s and more importantly be able to take having the P**s taken! Once you start taking yourself too seriously you have lost it and you'll get dragged back down to earth and there are plenty of folk on here ready willing and able!!!

On a personal note I have made some great friends on here over the past 10 years and have the hangovers to prove it!!!!!

Its Porlock toll road just outside Minehead.
