sedsy Posted February 5, 2003 Posted February 5, 2003 Can i legally drive my car pre SVA with an insurance cover note to have an mot done? Quote
adhawkins Posted February 6, 2003 Posted February 6, 2003 I know you're allowed to drive a car without an MOT to a pre-arranged MOT test. Not sure about the SVA side though. I would have thought so though...assuming you have to have an MOT before you can get an SVA. Andy Quote
neilb Posted February 6, 2003 Posted February 6, 2003 As long as it's "road legal" ie. the lights work tyres are good etc.. and it's to a pre booked test then yes. I did about 100 miles getting it mot'd, sva'd and dvla'd with a insurance cover note and no number plates. Enjoy the ride Neil Quote
JimNoble Posted February 9, 2003 Posted February 9, 2003 There are 3 circumstances in which you can drive your car on the road before the SVA: 1. Driving to a pre-arranged MOT test. 2. Driving to a garage to have work done to have work done essential to passing the SVA (although I suspect this one is aimed more at Jap imports and the like, so don't quote me 3. Driving to the SVA! Make sure you have insurance, of course, and carrying documentary evidence of your MOT test/SVA test/garage booking is probably wise... Jim Quote
