peterg Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 Right, after all the queueing last year we've had a rethink and this year the trackday afternoon is going to be run on a pre-booked 'half hour session' basis. The guys attending the Sprint School in the morning will be allocated places into the first two sessions and the rest will be available on a first-come first-served basis, see below for the full details: QUOTE WSCC Saturday afternoon trackday IMPORTANT: Please note, the WSCC will be holding a trackday on Saturday afternoon using the paddock as a collection area so there will be no access to the paddock from 11:30am until 5pm on Saturday apart from cars taking part in the trackday, if you arrive at the venue between these times please park (and unload if you wish to participate in the trackday) in the top camping field. We have 4 hours of run time - track opens at 1pm and shuts at 5pm leaving 30 minutes contingency for delays and clearing up. Divided into 8 x 30 minute sessions this will allow 10 cars in each session get 2 runs each of 2 laps of the top loop – ie. enter the track at the ‘Finish Line’ gate, go round the top loop then turn right after the finish line and go round the top loop again then, after this second lap continue down to the Paddock gate to rejoin the queue for the second run. Ahead of any laps you will have to sign on and nominate which two sessions you would like to do your laps in [see (1) below]. To help with running costs, there will be a charge of £10 per driver for this. Cars for each session will be identified with colour coded stickers (numbered) to denote your expected session time on track. We’ll use the paddock as the holding area - with the numbers on the sticker to denote where you park. Batches will be called as they are required - otherwise, kick off your shoes and relax until it is your turn. Please clear the paddock by 50pm to allow the following days competitors to place their kit... Paul Edden will set up his big gazebo as the sign on area near the Paddock Office and signon will start at 11:30am: 1/ Drivers book their sessions, pay the money and sign the club indemnity form. - Sandra Edden 2/ Paddock control (organising the cars for the next batch, checking stickers) - John Fisher 3/ Course entry marshal (controls timed entry to laps) - Jon ‘Fish’ Curtis 4/ Course exit marshal (to direct cars back to the entry gate for second run) - Luke Algar 5/ Marshal at the main straight post in case of spins at the Mole Hill - Stephen Herbert Note: Paul Edden, Nick Algar and I will also be around in case of problems and to help with the management of the afternoon. Answers to possible questions people may have:- a/ You can nominate any two sessions you want, these can be consecutive sessions or 2 or more hours apart. b/ The £10 charge is for the whole 8 laps (2 sessions x 2 runs x 2 laps), not a charge per lap c/ The charge is per driver not per car so you could drive different cars in each session but this will need to be communicated to us at signon. d/ 'If' at 3pm there are any unbooked places left in some sessions then drivers can book more runs at a cost of £5 per session (4 laps) e/ You do not need to do anything to your car for this trackday but you will need a helmet and no bare arms please. Oh, and there will be a noise test but 99.9% of cars shouldn't have a problem. f/ Any disputes and the Chairman(elect)'s decision is final and he'll set the small angry one on yer g/ Don't try and pre-book sessions on this thread as they will be ignored The weather forecast for the whole weekend is looking great so bring some suntan lotion and a hat so you can chill out between runs Quote
