nik9669 Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 There's a high street chain - A-Plan Insurance - who've got a "specialist" branch in Thatcham. £110 or so for a 5,000 miles/year fully comp policy, £100 excess. Try them... 0845 071 1234. No, I don't work for them. Quote
Thrustyjust Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 I live opposite A Plan and it was still cheaper from my Lotus somewhere else, even siting opposite the guy and doing the paperwork............. Quote
Uncle Fester Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 Do Frank Pickles do an agreed value policy? Quote
dombanks Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 insurance is so funny with its prices with the way year to year prices vary. A flux was really cheap last year compared to all the others. this year its all gone up a little bit but everyone seemed to be within a few £ of each other. I think its just a case of try them all and see. Quote

Norman Verona Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 I gave up on Adrian Flux many years ago. I had insured with them year after year, ignored the rude letters but as I had no other reason to complain I just carried on. Until I needed to increase the annual mileage. You'd think I was a serial murderer! So, really fed up with being treated like I'd done something wrong and a premuim increae over double the 3000 miles (for 7500), I phoned round. The ONLY broker who bothered to deal with my request was Dave at MSM. I got better cover with the higher mileage for £30 more than AF. I had reason to use their continental recovery service (RAC) and without going into detail received service far above and beyond what was expected. With some products it's not the cheapest that matters but the best value/service levels. Insurance is one of them. Quote
Jonah Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 Seconded for MSM. Good knowledgable people to deal with who actually know what a Westfield is, unlike some of the other "specialist" brokers using monkeys reading off a screen in a call centre. They may be a bit dearer but the difference is probably less than the price of one tank of fuel in your Westfield. Do a search for MSM insurance & you should find quite a few recommendations. The opposite is true of Flux. Quote
Evo,s 7SE Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 when i rung msm they said they didnt do agreed values is this correct Quote
Norman Verona Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 If they said that then it must be correct. I always had agreed value on my car. I've had to switch brokers as Dave can't do a policy with a 12 month green card (car is in France on UK plates) Quote
Blatman Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 MSM / Dave Spragg can do no wrong in my book. Not the cheapest, and I've never had to claim, but I *know* from previous reports that it'll be as painless as it can be with MSM. Well worth the extra just for that peace of mind. Quote
housebeautician Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 Just binned AF as a waste of time. You should have seen the paperwork for a agreed value. Jesus all i tried to do was renew it. Went to msm, same price as AF but no agreed value . excellent service mind. give them a whirl if you need to renew insurance Quote
