smayo
Where can I find the engine number on my 1800 zetec? I have found the number “46384114RKC” stamped on it, but is this it? Thanks smayo
peterg
the engine number is stamped on a 'flat area' on the block just in front of the bellhousing on the exhaust side above the starter it will be something like "RQB" then "NS76124" or similar, I think the "RQB" bit says what model it was fitted to (Escort etc.) and the "NS" can tell you when it was made - Ford Technical Support can provide the information once you quote the right number
smayo
That's exactly where I found the number I quoted before, but it doesn't seem to be in the format that you describe. Could it be the right number? or should I have a look again for another number?
Westfieldman
And also just above the starter motor is another place they stamped it. Paul
Richard Salisbury
Yes, the number ending in RKC is the engine number The letters designate the engine configuration and model for emission purposes
