Which springs for my........?

Recommended Posts

I've seen a few posts recently asking about spring rates so thought it might be a good FAQ, I'm certainly interested.

If peeps could post up their proven / recommended combinations I'm sure it would be a useful thread. I'd certainly be interested.

Obviously there are a number of contributing factors which we need to know as well as the poundage, these are the ones I can think of so far so fill in as many blanks as you can

Front lbs (&colour)=

Rear lbs (&colour)=

Engine=

Narrow/wide=

Live/Independent=

Road/Track=

Weight of car=

Anything else you can think of add it on, i've put the colour in in relation to sprongs but I am aware this is not always a true reflection of the rates.

If we get enough replies i'll try and collate and add them to the first post.

Very interesting... As a new owner and engineer at Spax I was going to ask what sort of range of Springs folk are using to base some new development on.    My 95 CVH SEiW has tested 288Lbs/" presumably supposed to be 300 on the front and 200lbs on the rear.    I removed the 20 year old original Spax dampers and fitted with New ones I built myself last night.    I intend on doing a far it of damper development on this car.    I also find in interesting how much its mentioned about needing to balance dampers on this forum.   I agree dampers need to be matching but, from my experience if all the components are good and the dampers built well there should be very little difference in performance between dampers. Thats all folks :)
