Was a draw I reckon. just wait till I get some brakes on it sluggsy cant match the pintos pace down the straights though , a sad day in the life of Jeff cooper Sluggy seemed to possibly handle better, I've been pushing the old man to get it down to lukes! Your right, I didn't have the nads out the corners but I thought she seemed to turn in a bit better as well, or from where I was sat it looked like it. Having said that, the slicks did seem a bit "wobbly" compared to the 888's. Dunno why, usually love the slicks but they left me a bit dissapointed . Probably just lack of experience and ability. Quote
JeffC Posted June 3, 2008 Author Posted June 3, 2008 I struggled with understeer most of the day but I think it was me not compensating for the extra weight of the bang over the front, the 888s were good but I think I would have been a lump quicker on my slicks, certainly out the corners will sample slicks on Sunday on the slug see what it can do Quote

effinG Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 QUOTE and found that my helmet was being sucked off at higher speeds. All this talk of sex and cars keeps reminding me of that 'My car is my lover' TV programme! Quote
juansolo Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 I had a Tim D and found that my helmet was being sucked off at higher speeds. :-o Quote
JeffC Posted June 4, 2008 Author Posted June 4, 2008 well after reading through this thread I must be mad to fit a windscreen, but Im struggling to see how it can slow you down as much as some of the quoted times for eg. when I gained an extra 50bhp in a busa over a standard busa I only improved my lap times by 1second so if people are loosing 3-5 secs per lap a screen must be dragging 100bhp I will fit and do some tests myself and report back Quote
Stevo Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 There are a couple of clever science blokes on here who must be able to calculate the effect on power, in fact I'm sure someone said they were an aerodynamicastist or something. That said I think I'll do a couple of laps with and without my windscreen at Croft on Sunday, providing I can get my exhaust fixed in time. Quote
westfield_bumble Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 So if a windscreens 5 secs a lap any chance you could fit 4 so next time at cadwell i'm on the pace Was a noticable differance when i went to aero Quote
moomin Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 its not the nicest expeience getting walloped with flies /grit etc I drove through a swarm of bees in mine on Saturday, big old b*******s they were, that was fun. moomin Quote
Jace Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 I had a Tim D and found that my helmet was being sucked off at higher speeds. :-o Nothing worse than having your helmet sucked off at high speed... ...I mean where's the please in that! But seriously, since I had my accident last year I tend to wear a crash hat all the time and SWMBO insists I do when middle son gets in the car because she makes him. With a windscreen I find my head get knocked about quite a bit when it is very blustery or I am travelling at high speed. Ironically it is nowehere near as bad when (on the odd occasion) I'm not wearing the lid... Quote
Andrew Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Best watch Stevo doesn't jump in the wrong car at Croft, they're twins! Quote
JeffC Posted June 4, 2008 Author Posted June 4, 2008 just need to sort some perspex wind deflectors out now, not keen on the big sidescreens Ive just bought Quote
