Hi guys,

Sorry about this I have searched and searched for a topic I know exists but can't find it :durr:

It was done by a member a sort of step by step guide to fitting a lowline sump to the Zetec engine, I think it was a scholar sump used but if anyone knows where it is i'll be super greatfull!!

Cheers

Kris

What Zetec is it? is it a Black top or silver top ? The silver top is fairly simple and the black top is far more complex.

I have a black top with a Dunnell sump and I had to get new crank bolts made with extensions to take the baffle plate as Dunnells idea of drilling the originals and tapping extensions into them was a big no no.

The other problem you will face is a silver top is done on an exchange basis the whereas the black top is a two part original sump and the supply company will not want to do an exchange and therefore may not be willing to supply a shortened one.

Scholar told me the only way I could get one off them was to get an exchange unit from a scrap yard first.

Dunnell agreed to no exchange but charged me for the lack of!

Welcome to the joys of simple mechanics on Westfields!
