Crazy Eddie Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 I love my Megablade but I'm sure the b****y thing hates me. Every mod I have done to it is for reliability rather than performance so as to look after it but do you think it's gratefull? NO!!!! I upgrade the regulator rectifier and a fuel line randomly splits!!! I mount the pressure sender away to help it survive and I cut myself on a zip tie!!! I change oil and filter after trackday to look after it and I smash my hand while undoing the filter!!! And the final straw is that I cleaned it today after fixing an oil leak and caught my foot in the hose and fell over!!! I swear it hates me Does anyone else find this? Quote

V8grunt Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 Interesting about the petrol hose needing replacement. Scott and myself replaced both delivery and return hoses at Stoneleigh on our V8's thanks to the eagle eye of Barry. It's always a good idea to give the engine bay a good look over to try and spot the next thing ready to let go. Quote
Barry Ashcroft Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 QUOTE Scott and myself replaced both delivery and return hoses at Stoneleigh on our V8's thanks to the eagle eye of Barry. I'll make sure there's a new hose on the monster before you collect it Quote
neilwillis Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 Is it called Christine? If so, I think I know what the problem is!! Quote

Ah, its good to see its not only me who is f**ked off with their westy. Eddie, think yourself lucky mate , mine shot a con rod bolt out the side of the engine block at me , it has nearly shot boiling water all over me and when I finally got the engine back from a rebuild it decided to embarass me again by braking an accelerator cable in its first club blat since the rebuild. Don't worry, as soon as it is fixed I am gonna show it who's boss and give it some stick. Should be some time next summer! Quote
Crazy Eddie Posted September 7, 2007 Author Posted September 7, 2007 Yeah ok Fent that does sound worse, I suppose at least so far it has just been irritating and painful not too expensive (famous last words). To be fair my wife has put it all into perspective and reminded me about my last car (FD3S RX-7). I was taking for test drive for someone to buy it and he says, "Are these things really unrealiable then?" To which I reply, "Well if you look after them, like I do, then they look after you." Then I pull up on the drive to see the car wet itself as a coolant pipe splits and sends water everywhere Maybe I should retitle this thread as: Why do CARS hate me Quote
carpetstu Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 This year has been a rough ride for some of the Cannock / Shrewsbury crew and lets just hope all the repairs pay off next year and we get some b****y SUN!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
scott beeland Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 , it has nearly shot boiling water all over me Got that very t-shirt....and trust me...you don't want it Quote
Fent Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 Then I pull up on the drive to see the car wet itself as a coolant pipe splits and sends water everywhere he he , my car is incontinent too, decided to loose all coolant the first time I went to a Cannock meet - didn't even make it off the car park. At least you can say my car is consistent, it has broken down every blat I have been on. Quote
oioi Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 mines dumped boiling water over my legs (header tank over pressurised - now re-plumbed) dash caught fire, i escaped unscathed. replace the burnt out wire and set off. unfortunately the wire had burnt through the capillary tube for the oil pressure guage. hot oil sprayed onto gonads (teach me to blat nekkid). broke a drive shaft on a sunny day in the middle of nowhere. fell asleep in the car waiting for the RAC and got sunstroke. the worst one was when the dry sump tank leaked oil into the passenger footwell, covering new girlfriend posh handbag and shoes. expensive second date!
