:sheep: While (over)tightening the bolts on the thermostat housing of my 1600 x-flow I managed to crack the frigging thing. My car has a remote expansion tank, and I think the thermostat housing is from a Mk1 XR2 Fiesta (the one with the pressure cap, or in my case just a cap as the pressure cap is on the expansion tank).

I’m not yet 40 so I don’t really want to go scrap yard route so, does the housing come off a Mk1 XR2 Fiesta? If so, what is the part number? And who sells them?

Many thanks.

Mark

Hi Mark

You should be able to get the housing from your local Ford dealer, take the old housing with you. Alternatively Burtons sell them part no. FP610M £15 + VAT + P&P Tel.020 8554 2281.

It's an Escort mk 3 1.1 made before 8/83  part number 6101210  don't think a main agent will stock it but if it's still made will be able to order it for you....after that date they did not have the filler cap so if you could without a latter one will do you.
