mick 0
I am about to replace a failed ignition coil on my 1700 crossflow, fitted with Optronic ignition.Does anyone know if I should use the ballasted or un-ballasted type of coil? The wiring to the coil at the moment doesn,t seem to have a ballast resistor in it,but the wiring in general looks a bit bodged up,so I,d like to sort it out properly.I can,t tell what type the old coil is ,as the label has dropped off. ian crocker 0
The std optronic requires a ballasted coil. The Performance system uses a non-ballasted 'electronic' coil. The very same Q was asked a few days ago - look for the thread as I posted the web site of Lumenition. Cheers, Ian
