boris Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 just thought i'd share with you guys a highly amusing letter i had in the post today. i have been expecting my insurance renewal through so i was quite pleased when it came today. im not renewing it anyway but i wanted to see how much i would have saved had i not been changing the engine. i paid around the £400 pund mark this time last year so was expecting it to be around the £325 mark with that extra years no claims so imagine my suprise when i read down the letter and found it had gone up...................................................... ......................to £976!!!!!!!!!!!!!! a whopping £500 increase. has the world gone mad or is it just me? leighc Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 not westfield related, but Dont ever go with elephant insurance. I had the insurance on my toyota expire. I didn't ring up as I never recieved a renewal. Had £84 taken out of my bank (thats for a group 4 car, up £200 to £910) and when I told them (3 times) that I have not recieved a certificate or renewal i got 3 letters asking for me to send them back so they could cancel my policy. Truly incompetence at its finest. Always through to an international call centre who kept me on hold for over 5 minutes at a time too. Quote
Frau Vesty Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 Always through to an international call centre who kept me on hold for over 5 minutes at a time too. Yes we have experienced that call centre too. It was so painful that we actually gave up and sorted the issue out another way. And they gave up on pursuing our claim against a car which hit our (parked) car, leaving behind half a numberplate and a VIN plate... Quote
Man On The Clapham Omnibus Posted July 23, 2005 Posted July 23, 2005 And they gave up on pursuing our claim against a car which hit our (parked) car, leaving behind half a numberplate and a VIN plate... Oh that was too hard... Above and beyond, surely? Now had they left an address.... Quote
Frau Vesty Posted July 23, 2005 Posted July 23, 2005 Unfortunately, the helpful people at Thames Valley police managed to "lose" the evidence, so the third party insurer simply denied that their vehicle was involved, and the vehicle was never traced. The witness who told us they saw the damaged car pull up on the driveway of the house of the sister who owns the car, and spoke to them, strangely denied all knowledge later on the following day after the police had told her sister that there was a witness Quote
Man On The Clapham Omnibus Posted July 23, 2005 Posted July 23, 2005 Sadly, lying now seems to be the default condition. Call me rose-tinted if you like, but it didn't seem to be like that once... Quote
