Ted Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 Then it passed. Fantastic SVA guy, Mark at Shrewsbury, top bloke really helpful as it was touch and go. Will post more later as just taking SWMBO for a spin to plan wedding stuff. Thanks all TED Quote
jak Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 Congrats, Ted. Watch out for the back end sliding out on roundabouts - made my son smile though John. Quote
Ted Posted July 22, 2005 Author Posted July 22, 2005 Overall had a good if somewhat nerve wracking SVA experience. Mark was positive from the start and the car went through all the initial tests (emissions, electrics, speedo, self centreing, noise) with no problem 2 issues with radius: - Rubber edging around nosecone required, (got missed in last nights check) but he let me fix there and then. - Valve was at the top of the spare wheel, just rotated the wheel to hide valve behind the number plate. The big problem was the brakes, they were'nt effective enough as there was air in the system despite them being bled numerous times. Mark seemed to want me to pass though as he appeared more disappointed than me about it and gave me directions to a local garage where the guy pressure bled the brakes there and then and said he didn't want paying until it had passed!! Took it back and finished the test with no further problems. So thanks to all here for hints and tips and I would highly recommend F1 Auto's Shrewsbury for their help with the brakes. Registered at DVLA on the way home but the journey back was double the mileage of the journey there. What a day, time for a beer. TED Quote

Drove my daughter about and when asked what she thought she replied with a big smile on her face: "I love this car but why is everyone looking at us?" TED Quote
