Matt Seabrook Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 I'd advertise it for £11,995 and see what happens. It will not sell. Which when you look at the spec it should be worth that kind of money. As it stands I would not sell my Zetec car for £10k although the way the market is it would not likly fetch any more than that Quote
Mark Stanton Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 Revver-End Terry had an absolute stonking car 2.0 litre VX with all the right bits on it, fully sorted ARBS you name it - did'nt budge Quote
Matt Seabrook Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 Yep this looked like a great car for the money and should have been worth £12000 Quote
adhawkins Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 When I was looking for a car about three years ago there wasn't much below £12k, I remember seeing details of x-flow or pinto cars at about £8k-£9k. Are you sure? I bought my first Westfield nearly 3 years ago, paid £8750 for a 1997 SEiW, 2 litre Zetec. That was pretty much the going rate for that kind of spec car, there were plenty under the 10k mark. Andy Quote
Lurksalot Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 Can everyone convince Greg that the car is only worth £8,500 He may just bite my hand off for 9K Quote
Mark Stanton Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 Only time will tell - just depends on who's shopping It was posted in earlier jest that it was worth whatever someone was willing to pay for it - sadly its quite possibly true Quote
gregh Posted July 19, 2005 Author Posted July 19, 2005 scary really that Westfield sold this car for £15,500 in 2001!! Quote
felters Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 Makes the car pretty cheap motoring actually. Not exactly the same sort of thing but my TD5 Disco was £36k in Jan 2001. Four and a bit years (and 72k miles) and I'll be lucky to see £11k back. Lost 70% of it's value. And actually there are many cars out there that are worse still... You've only yourself to blame if you've poured a shed load of money into it. Now where did I hide that bill for £1100 for my new exhaust... Quote
gregh Posted July 19, 2005 Author Posted July 19, 2005 note I didn't say that I paid Westfield £15k Quote
Lurksalot Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 Good grief If you let the car go for 9K thats only a 10% per year loss If I were you I'd sell sell it quick before the weathers gone prices will drop even further come september edited and even more grief from SWMBO Quote
Lurksalot Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 Besides theres quite a bit of mileage on it . some guys have insurance mileage of only 1.5k/ year and you have wet weather/tonneau cover. does that mean it got wet oh dear I might overlook these at the right price Quote
Martin Keene Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 Credit where its due, he's trying damn hard... Quote
Lurksalot Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 Don't offer me any credit that would really get me in trouble with SWMBO anyway the lottery didn'nt come out in my favor so I'll stick to lurking for a bit longer FWIW I believe 11K gets you amongst the V6/8 and nice BEC's and if I had it I might be looking there Quote
gregh Posted July 20, 2005 Author Posted July 20, 2005 I've been thinking long and hard about pricing, in my car's instance some factors I believe need to be considered wrt my car are as follows, feedback on the importance costings of these parts via PM rather than public please!
