Starting to get grief from 'er indoors and feeling guilty about not using my Westie as much I'd like to, done less than 1000 miles in the past 2 years due to buying a new house and having to do it up & 2 small kids taking up all my spare time :(

Car is a limited edition SEiW Sports Carbon, 15k miles I've done a fair bit to it over the years to keep it nicely balanced between a road car that can also be used on track.

Some detail and pics (some pics out of date) are here:

Know that feeling......

I remember when you were buying this car Greg!!

I'll take the first punt and say that the spec. would suggest that you should try to break the £10k barrier.........

Posted

I would've thought between £9000 - £10,000 imo.

What year is it though, is it a "Q" etc?

Posted

Its a 99 T, factory built.

Max Power: 174bhp @ 6980rpm

Max Torque: 152lbft @ 3550rpm

Posted

Would've thought £9500 would be a reasonable figure to accept imo, but I'd advertise it for £9750-£9995 as said many times before buyers seem reluctant to buy cars over the 10k barrier.

Shame to sell though, looks a nice car, can't you store it away for a year & see what happens?

Cheers,

Mark.  :0

Can't help feeling that the balance is wrong here - surely you should be selling 'er indoors?

Cheers for the replies, this year was the see what happens year, and it still ain't getting used :(

Does the fact it's a  limited edition sport carbon not carry a small premium at all?

cheers,

Greg

I'd try flogging it for more, especially if you aren't desperate for the money. You can always bring the price down, but you can't put it up...

Afterthought: Have you asked the factory for the opinion on a selling price?

Posted

Agreed, go for more.  It's got plenty of the right bits n bobs, not your average Zetec- or your average throttle bodied Zetec for that matter - so I would start at 11k even though its 6 years old.

Fwiw,

I bought my car in May last year, it's a speedsport so has arb's, lsd, jenveys etc etc aswell as contoured dash, all weather gear, a load of raceline goodies (dry sump, waterrail etc), it's also on a 99 "T" & had 5800 miles on it at the time, I paid ever so slightly under £10k for it (although it was obviously advertised for more).

At the time there were other cars available for more and some for slightly less, Gregs car is similar in spec & is same age, so allowing for some depreciation and a few more miles £9500 is realistic imo....

Don't forget the difference between what price you can buy a car for, and what price you should ask for it........

Not really (IMHO) there have been quite a few various "Special Editions" the fact the car has a specialist market would put it into same sale area as other Westfields  ;)

When I was looking for a car about three years ago there wasn't much below £12k, I remember seeing details of x-flow or pinto cars at about £8k-£9k.

If I could have got a car to your spec for £10k that's what I'd  be driving today ! :D  Nice car and cheap at £10k.  I'd advertise it for £11,995 and see what happens.
