steve_m Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 Some complete to**er has dumped an old washig machine in a layby on a local country road. (B656) It's a great road, cuts through some fantastic scenery in Hertfordshire. There are good council run dumps in Baldock, Letchworth, Hitchin and Stevenage so what makes people dump things in laybys ? What kind of an ignorant, think, stupid moron does this ? Quote
chrisbin Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 Because they think they have to pay...can't be bothered to go to dump....etc Unfortunately its only going to get worse as more regulations come in on "hazardous" waste - now includes TV's, PC's etc etc Quote
a4gom Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 didn't think pikeys washed their clothes !! Now I've thought about it, you're probably right, they stole a van which had a washing machine in the back and dumped it because they had no use for it. Quote
Toby Mack Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 yep. sad isn't it? Cycling to work this morning I found someone had dumped a bed on a path in a nature reserve. About 3 minutes drive from the local tip which is open early to late this time of year... Quote
funbobby Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 i think you stumbled on the local dogging venue Quote
wookie Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 They could of dropped it off at rush green scrappies, for the effort it takes to dump something in a lay-by, why not got to the local council dump!, ******s like that need shooting. Like people flicking fags-end out the car windows when they have an ashtray in their motor:angry: Rant over! Quote
Martin Keene Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 Like people flicking fags-end out the car windows when they have an ashtray in their motor That one really winds me up... Well, smokers in general really, because they chuck them every where. I listened to an interesting debate on littering on the local radio station breakfast show, the male presenter admitted to throwing fag ends out of his car window, but didn't think it was littering. Someone phoned up and said "If they're not litter, what are they? Roadside decoration!" Presenter was totally stumped, speachless, etc. Made me smile... ******! Quote
John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 Now dont start me about smokers. At my works they have to go outside to smoke and as regular as clockwork disappear for 10 minutes every hour. What about the non smokers? They should be allowed to leave earlier to compensate. John PS - agree that dumpers are complete holes Quote
JonnyBoy Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 Unfortunately its only going to get worse as more regulations come in on "hazardous" waste - now includes TV's, PC's etc etc yep, but your local council has to offer a collection service on WEEE, so as long as they inform people of this, it shouldnt be an issue! Stores that deliver items are also obliged to take this stuff away.. the store you bought the appliance/electrical goods from is also responsible for collecting WEEE too! Quote
oldman Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 Once saw a three piece sweet dumped in the central res. of a dual carriageway....all neatly layed out too.Naughty but it made me laugh Quote
Stuart Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 Pikeys more than likely... Pikeys would never dump a washing machine - it can be weighed in at the scrappy. Quote
wookie Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 should of dropped it off anywhere in Hatfield, thats a dump Quote
