Must have the most magnetic westfeild in existance, because it seems to attract other cars to it.

Picture the scene, out for an hours gentle tootle down some of the local A+B roads. Driving down the road and I come up behind a car going slowly up to a cross roads (our priority), ease off and slow down, car in front stops, I stop behind him (about 10-15 ft away), next thing I know is his reverse lights are on and hes coming straight back at me. Crunch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

God knows what he was doing, anyway 4 young lads pile out of the car and start mouthing off. Eeek. I asked him why he reversed without looking behind him first and in the same sentence he said to the effect that "he didnt see me because my car was so low and why did I run into the back of him"

??????????

Anyway things heated up a bit at that point with the 4 of them going on to me about it, so I decided to play safe and call the police. He didnt want to even exchange details with me and nearly drove off till one of his mates saw sense and told him if the police arrive and hes not there, then it wouldn`t look good.

Police arrived within 15 minutes and took statements from both of us. Looks like i`ll have to let the insurance companies sort this one out as there where no witnesses to the accident.

Cars mechanically ok but the nosecones beggered and the bonnets taken a knock too.

Still things could have been worse, I did think I was in for a bit of argro at one point. Off now to get a brew and calm down before I go hunting for all my documents.

That`ll teach me to go for a drive in this glorious weather, wont it.

Doh! :(

I would jot down every last detail while it is still fresh in the mind.

Just a little worried that you insurance company *could* get four whiplash injury claims... :0

Kinell....you and me must be jinxed in the car damage stakes Phil.

You got legal cover?

I hadn't but now have retrospectively got RAC legal which is helping me with my incident with the HGV

Any idea why they reversed?

so they can say "he ran up the back end of us and now we've all got whiplash"

Were there any skid marks going backwards from your car, assuming you were on the brakes?

Unfortunately its going to be a tricky one to prove and you may end up with a split liability.  Hope not though mate, just know what an A*** it can be trying to prove something wasn't your fault.

What a bunch of w**kers, hope you get it sorted Phil.

I had this happen to me years ago in a tin top, took a while, stuck to my guns and it got sorted though.

My thoughts exactly.  There was a post on here not too long ago where a WSCC member had witnessed an accident with a group of lads in a car effectively causing a rear end shunt.  Sound like a scam to me.
