DickieB Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 Not tried pixmania, but ebuyer were very good and quick, and at the time were cheaper than pixmania for what I was after. Quote
Nick A Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 Got mine from jessops If you find the cheapest price on the net that is from a uk based company and they have the item in stock jessops will do there best to beat the price,(thats what they told me anyway) then if you have any problems you can take it back and have a chat with them Nick Quote
Frau Vesty Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 If you have a problem with cameras under warranty, don't you usually deal direct with the manufacturer anyway, so after sales service shouldn't really be an issue. Quote
melt Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 Purchased from Pixmania, they appear to be based in France. My camera came with a charger with a European plug not a good old UK 3 pin, not a problem but something to be aware of. I think if you read the small print on their site they do mention that this can happen. Other than that no problems, but I have not tried to return any goods. Mel Quote
Eccentric_Rich Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 I bought a Ricoh digital camera from Pixmania a couple of weeks ago and the service was excellent. Delivered in a couple of days via DHL and the package included an adapter to convert the European two pin mains plug to a UK three pin plug (a proper adapter not a shaver type). Jessops will price match but couldn't supply the camera I wanted - if they could of I would of preferred Jessops in case of any warranty problems etc but my camera has been perfect so far and I have the full manufacturers warranty. Found the best price I could then shopped round until I got a price match. Dixons did it in the end. Quote
melt Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 pistonbroke, Delivery time was about 3 days, I think it went from Paris to Belguim to Heathrow. The price was the best I could find at the time. Mel Quote
YouMustBeJoking Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 I bought an Epson scanner from Pixmania. Very good price but.... The software was French. No English version on the CD. They refunded me £10 for the inconvenience. The English software cost £10 from Epson. I got the impression from their website that some cameras can have French menus. Worth checking before purchase.
