More crash repair advice

As you may have heard, one of the members of the Northants WSCC had a bit of a sky dive onto a roundabout close to junction 14. In the process he unfortunately pushed me off the road and got my car damaged in the process.

He has had a guy from RAMORE come round and assess the damage. He now claims that it is not a total loss! God knows how but I will describe what is damaged.

Chassis is bent on both sides (new chassis), body has had the right front wheel against it and it cracked the body (New body my idea but he wants to rebuild it and paint the body in red!!!!), new front wings, wishbones, nose cone, bonnet, steering rack, 3 new wheels and 4 tires. This is forgetting the oil cooler that cracked and the damage done as while hanging in the air the engine was still running. Sump is cracked and I feel the engine should come apart and be checked for loss of oil pressure and damage due to that. Side window, lock strap came off. Rear axle had a major bash sideways (not easy to crack revolution wheels!) and god knows what happened to the brakes, shocks, bearings and ball joints.

Anyway, we now need to get an estimate. Any of you guys who runs a business who can do it or any suggestions what specialist would be happy coming over to Northampton to assess it and possibly doing the job?

I can't believe it's not a write-off as the car is/was a 1700 X-flow worth about £7k.

Any ideas? I think he would be happier with a write-off scenario.

Mine is back with the boys from Kingswinford as there is only £2.5 - 3k of damage.

Cheers

Sorry to hear about this  :(  but surely the factory would be the only sensible place to get this sort of repair work done so why not get it up there and ask for an estimate - that should guarantee it'll be written off !   ;)

Got to agree with Pete,  Get the factory to check it out & it should be written off.  I'd be amazed if the it was repairable (financially)

Sorry to hear about the damage. It sounds like that Westie needs put down. And, what about the damage to your car? What has happened to it? Some Muppet in a works van reversed into me in August and cracked my carbon nose cone and bonnet and the bill for that was over a grand, so I can understand how the X-flow might be written off.

Mine???

Well, according to those petrol-heads dudley way it needs:

New wishbones at front, new steering (the whole lot), new suspension at the front, 3 new wheels, 2 new tyres, 2 new headlights and a new wet-sump.

I am amazed they don't think I need a new nose cone as i spotted a dodgy looking hole near the bolt hole underneath and some scratching - in fact I will ring and check in a minute.

They reckon that's it after hitting the high kerb at 55ish.

So, should get it back in a couple of weeks for some early morning bike helmeted blasting to work.
