cidersurfer Posted March 10, 2005 Posted March 10, 2005 Most important question... WIIFM... How much they gonna pay you... Just a thought Quote
TerryC Posted March 10, 2005 Posted March 10, 2005 I work for DHL and at least we admit we sometimes make mistakes, but if its our fault we always compensate. Rumour has it that we are trialing mail delivery in London with a view to taking the contract from the PO Terry Quote
James Posted March 11, 2005 Author Posted March 11, 2005 Most important question... WIIFM... How much they gonna pay you... Just a thought Nouthing it for the public good! and there pockets of course. Nick Algar does have a good point about trust, I dont trust many people in this world but it is a case of if I scratch there back theyl scratch mine the only thing I am worried about is my version of the truth being twisted into some thing they want it to be. This of course I have no control over. Quote
neilwillis Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 I was under the impression that the Post Office is still a publicly owned company. Can they therefore refuse any of their owners from making use of the "service"? It might be an interesting bit of litigation when they do try to worm out of delivering packages in the future. The sooner the postal monopoly is ended, the better - just don't live out in the wilds when it happens! Quote

The sooner the postal monopoly is ended, the better - just don't live out in the wilds when it happens! They cant refuse to offer the service to some customers ( the words discrimination come to mind ) but they can refuse to carry some types of goods and this is what they may choose to do. If they did this would spell disaster for the industry. Quote
Blatman Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 If they did this would spell disaster for the industry. No, it wouldn't. You'd have companies stepping to to pick up the slack and deliver what the Post Office won't... Are you gonna PM me? Quote

This of course I have no control over. Oh, so they're just doing it for a pullitzer then? You wanna trust a journo, go ahead... You already have reservations. I'd find out who it is and try to view some of their prior work. If they're into the sensationalising style reporting that is now rife rather than presenting stark cold facts I'd be very wary. No PM yet, BUT I have had a couple of delays on the PM system myself yesterday, so maybe it's stuck on the server somewhere... Quote
