As some of you may remember just recently I had a run in with the Royal Mail as they refused to pay out the insurance money on a parcel that they lost.

They eventually paid up but have requested that I no longer use there service and the manner in which they were trying to weasel there way out of it sugests they WILL do it again.

You may or may not have seen a chanel 4 programe called dipatches in the last few months about the Royal Mail and there lack mm service I thin is the best way to describe it.

Well the reporter that did this programe has contacted me and wants to do an interview with  me that would be used in a follow up programe, now I want to expose the Royail Mail for the way in which they can deny liability for any item in there posesion and charge for insurance on parcels that they have no intention on paying out on.

BUT

I am concerned about going on the programe from two points of view.........

1. If the Royal Mail decide to withdraw the Special Delivery service for my industy I am not going to be the most popular person alive

2. I do not wish the criminal fraternity to know who I am and where I work / Live.

But I do want expose the truth.

Any thoughts?

Tell them that you're happy to contribute, but that you need be assured of anonymity, and explain your concerns. I can't see why he wouldn't agree.

PM me with details of the production company and the reporter, and I'll tell you why I've asked...

Its up to you. But do you trust journalists?

I can see your point about wanting to expose the Royal mails shoddy service,BUT ultimately what will you gain out of it now that they have paid you out.....other than the satisfaction you have told the world.

Its your call!!

Satisfied claim or not, I think there are wider implications here especially as the P.O is about to lose it's monopoly. They've needed a fire lighting under them for a while now, and I don't think Parcel Force are known as Parcel Farce without some good reason, so stoke away...

Having said that, there are NO courier or parcel companies I would hand on heart reccommend as being acceptable for anything other than a casual user. I've tried most of them (annual spend anywhere between 0.5 million and 10 million...) and we're resigned to using the least worst as opposed to any that may be considered an industry leader...

Ive got the matches and some fuel! :D

There is not any courier that will handle are goods which makes it all a bit harder hence why I dont want to upset them too much.

That said if the entire trade didnt use there service they would lose billions and im not sure they can afford that.

You need to message me with details of what you ship. I just *might* be able to help. However courier/specialist transportation of highly valuable goods doesn't come cheap. Generally, when faced with the real costs of shipping something of high value, most folk choose the cheap option and risk it. I have no problem with that, but I do regret it when warnings about cost vs service expectations are ignored and people decide purely based on price. Cheap is rarely any good in the shipping industry, IME,

Yeah - they could do one of those really cool silhouette bits of camera work and blur your voice and make it sound all deep and sluggish !!

But I agree with what others are saying - the Post Office, and in particular Parcel Farce, need a damn good kicking and crap like they tried to pull has to be exposed for the public good.

There are a lot of things I don't like about living in the US, but excellent customer service isn't one of them.  And I've never had a problem with any of the couriers or mail carriers I've used when I've bought stuff or shipped it overseas.  What happens to it when it gets to the UK is another story however....

i'd definately try and go public with it...even try watchdog and the major papers...

b******ds shouldnt be allowed to get away with it....nothing will ever be done about this sort of thing happening unless its exploited...

and im pretty sure you can do the interview anonymously

ive seen similar thing on tv where the person being interviewed

is sitting in the dark...

or you could just dress as a postman with a big wig and beard,

cheers darren   :D

Would you like fries with that?

Oh, and have a nice day!

Not forgetting the insincere (spelling?) smile, followed by me wanting to puke, God Americans are so superficial

You forgot the greeting...

"Hi. How are you today?"

Aaaaaaaarrrrrrrrggggggggghhhhhhhhhh.............

They are as bad as polititions, in 20 years and quite a number of press releases even the best has still got glaring errors/ ommissions in it. Some of them you didn't even realise it was you they were talking about  :(  :(

LOL !!

You've got it *all* wrong about merkins.  It's really easy to ruin their day by getting the last word in.  See the following examples :

Septic : "Hi. How are you today?"

Me : "Thoroughly p******** off.   You ??"

Now, even though you end with a question it's pretty much guaranteed that, provided you deliver the first part in a suitably grumpy or surly tone, you won't get an answer, just a slightly embarassed silence   :t-up:

Ending "interactions" (I don't like to call them "conversations" - that implies I have any interest in what they're saying....) with annoying service staff is just as easy :

Septic : "Thankyou, and have a nice day"

Me : "Yeah, you too"

Septic : "Thank you"

Me : "You're welcome"

Septic : *thinks* "Damn, he got the last word in....   "

Or....

Septic : "blah, blah, blah...."

Me : "Thank you"

Septic : "You're welcome"

Me : "No really, it was nothing...."

And as you wander off you can relax in the knowledge that, once again, you managed to get the last word in  :t-up:

It really is excellent sport :D

Actually, getting back on topic, maybe you should go "postal" on them... :D:D

Ooooh, is that my coat ?!

*shuts door quietly....*
