perksy
Check Spec's when comparing cars: Engine type,Carbs or Throttle Bodies, RAC Rollbar,Shallow Baffled sump etc It can start to get Expensive when you start to Create the Spec' of car that you want You might want to spend a bit more and have the work already done for you As ever it all comes down to Budget, then Up-gradeitus takes over and the Budget goes straight out of the window
never fear
i see what your saying, i have noticed a few 1600 x-flow's up for grabs. what the genral feelings for these engines? and what set up am i best looking for? i will just use it for weekends and (and summer week days when im skivving work) + weekend shows. get a bit swamped with jargon at mo
JonnyBoy
Also, what's the odd second roll bar thingy for? the hood frame - dummy not keen on a car with any hint of yellow.. completely devalues it On a seriou snote.. it looks over priced to me. adhawkins
Also, what's the odd second roll bar thingy for? the hood frame - dummy I'm talking about the chrome bit above the standard bar on this one. Not like any hood frame I've ever seen... Andy
ROC
Looks like the hood frame has been folded together, stood up and tied to the roll bar. Car is too expensive imo. Rich.
Mark Purves
Andy For the last time it is the hold frame.
Mark Stanton
Yep ................... thats the hood frame folded vertically
adhawkins
Ok, I stand (ok, sit) corrected... Didn't realise that the hood frame was taller than the roll bar when fitted like that, but mine never went near the car when I had it, so what do I know? scott beeland
Ok, I stand (ok, sit) corrected... , so what do I know? Andy Not much evidently
a4gom
And there's the extra roll bar (now talking about the car on FindIt). Looks like the hood frames stood vertical? just guessing though as I don't have any on mine!
a4gom
1600 x-flow's up for grabs. what the genral feelings for these engines? I love mine, sure theres more and easier power available but at least its proven and easy with a xflow, not so many blocks just lying around now though. never fear
so what you get power and performance wise? the guy i spoke to said he gets about 90mph tops. what do i need to look for on a 1600 x-flow type?
leighc
I've got a 1700 xflow and I've had mine way over that. 5sp box and a few things done to the engine. 90mph seems a low top end, unless he has got gear ratios set up for pure acceleration! never fear
how reliable are they? i assume the 1600 is as good as the 1700? also quick question, how easy are the swept wings to change for the cycle ones? and what do you do with the holes in the tub.?
