The EV 3p/1.5p per mile are ADDITIONAL to the annual road fund licence though. So be careful what you wish for...

Once the EV pay per mile charge is up and running, guess what then!  Yes, there'll be a pay per mile going on petrol and diesel cars.

Exactly, our total road tax will go up because we will have a car based value and a per mile value, taxation is only going in one direction.

I think this is the way it'll go too, we will not lose one, just gain another, double taxed on a road use of cars, all new cars have GPS as it is, we will just be mandated to have a black box fitted, classics may be exempt due to old electrical systems and generally limited mileages
