Anyone been here? Its in Playa Blanca.

Looking to book family holiday there in July and all my research to date suggests its OK with good facilities at a reasonable(ish) price!

Just thought I'd see if anyone knows it......

Ta!

I haven't been to that Hotel but I know Lanzarote well and can assure you that Playa Blanca is probably the smartest resort. Full of 5*plus accommodation.

Its not as picturesque as the oldtown in playa del carmen but has an excellent beach and is only a short boat trip from Fortaventura.

Carhire is a must if you want to see the island less than £80 for the week.

If you haven't been to the island before ask me for some sightseeing recommendations.

For the sake of clarity (so that Chrisbin doesn't ask the cab driver for directions to a town that doesn't exist), it's Puerto del Carmen...... which is a nice town, with some great restraunts. You'll be queuing for the best ones.......

Take the ferry (with the car) to Corralejo on Fuerteventura, and drive south to the "sand dunes". There you'll find miles (about 7, IIRC) of almost white, sandy beaches, and not much else. If you have kids though, best talk to them about the birds and the bees. There'll be naked Germans everywhere..........

Settle down near one of the hotels so that you can use the bogs, otherwise you'll be trotting off into the water every so often.......

have a look at Lanzarote web site

Cesar Manrique Foundation is a must but go early. He controlled the development of Lanzarote when he was alive and influenced must of the low rise development. he built his house in a lava flow. superb.

Jameos del Agua, Mirador del Río, La Cueva de los Verdes, etc.

Ummmmm......???

"The resort of Puerto del Carmen is located on the south east coast of Lanzarote."

"Playa Blanca is located at the south tip of the island, 26 miles south west of Arrecife."

If you're hiring a car to explore, then Puerto (not playa) del Carmen is somewhere you'll probably want to go. Besides, there's a submarine trip that leaves from the harbour, and cruises round a nearby shipwreck.

Map......

IIRC, Arrecife to Playa de las Americas is about 10 minutes. From there to Puerto del Carmen is about a 10 minute walk. Lanzarote is a small island........
