Been in design before the XTR2. And I think it would be a stretch of the imagination to call the XTR2 the originator of the super sport style of car  ;)

It's certainly got some features which are nicer than the XTR2.

Lights are definitely better - think the lights on the XTR are tacky - hence why we changed the fronts but the rears of the Corams are nice - ELise S2 I think.

I did think it was going to be a lot cheaper than the XTR though - maybe I'm mixing it up with the MK.

Will be good to see it up and running :)

On the Yahoo BEC list we got bored of waiting for the car to appear, never mind the website!! :0  :D

Its a nice looking car, but suffered a bit from being much (over) hyped on the aforementioned forum, and was originally planned for launch at the the 2002 Autosport show, over 16 months ago. Im not sure how it compares to an XTR2 dynamically, but they were certainly claiming big things for it on the BEC list, even saying one version was gonna have a 400bhp 10k RPM V8 in it, for around £20k all in! Prices of less than £15k for a fully built ZX9 car were also mentioned which seemed a tad optimistic, though the actual prices are a little more realistic on their website now, £23k for a ZX9 engine's car fully built, which would make it a viable alternative to the XTR2 I guess.

Not half as much as the Omatic  :D

400kgs with a 2ltr Honda you say...  :arse:  :arse:  :arse:

Re the Omatic, from what I understand most of the problems with that were business related (someone turned out to be a bit of a w anchor...) and problems with suppliers promising bits but not delivering.  Plus it was all being done in Spain....

But the engineering concept was, from what was explained to me, very interesting.  There was at least one running prototype and I don't think the project is entirely dead.....
