Without wanting to sound like a cliche, i never thought i would be writing this. I have owned this car for 17 years, and very much enjoyed everything about it, including this club! But, i find myself using it less and less. I have always fancied a V8 and miss our Defender, so have decided to buy or build a V8 Land Rover. This means the Westfield has to go, as apparently, i cannot have 2 toys!

Current mileage is 20,870. It usually does about 800 dry miles a year. It lives in a carpeted garage and comes with two enormous history files and all previous mot certificates in my ownership.

Engine/Gearbox

125 BHP Crossflow

Twin 40s

K&N filters

Motad repackable silencer

4 into 1  Westfield manifold

Power Vamp lightweight battery

Valvoline 20w50 changed every spring

Water pump and all coolant hoses replaced last summer

Type 9 5 speed box.

Brakes, wheels and tyres

4 pot calipers with drilled discs

RS 2000 rear drums, always been fine as car is so light.

Minilight style wheels with Yoke 185/60 x 13 tyres

Suspension

Protech adjustable shocks all round.

Sorry, cannot remember the spring rates, they are whatever Protech Recommend.

Corner weighted for a 75KG driver at Track Developments

Body

Very good considering it is nearly 30 years old!

Some minor crazing around the wing mounts.

There is a scratch on the offside wing. Nobody knows how it got there!!!

When i bought it, i did not like the swept wings. So i bought a set of Tiger cycle wing brackets, light mounts and cycle wings. But i grew to like the traditional look, so have never fitted them. They will come with the car if the new owner would like them. I recommend keeping the traditional look, as they are few and far between now.

Tillet style seats, which are surprisingly comfortable.

I love the aeroscreen. There is much less buffeting than with a screen. However, if the new owner prefers a screen, the car will come with screen, fillet, wipers and doors.

I also have the original alloy dash and carpets.

Also welcome to have the fleece indoor fitted car cover.

So there you have it. A good honest, genuine Westfield, which has spent its last 17 years being pampered by me. Mot'd a couple of weeks ago.

Bad points?

Well, the tyres, although having loads of tread, could do with being replaced due to age.

They do not seem to be hard, but are a few years old now.

I am asking £6,250 and will be genuinely sad to see it go.

I have lots of spares/bits and pieces collected over the years that will come with the car if wanted.

Also spare wheel and carrier.

Cheers,

James.

I had a bit of a wobble and decided not to sell. A nice blat on a sunny day made me rethink. But, have definitely decided the car has to go to make room for the new project. Many apologies to those affected. I will take some more pictures, as I think the light in these does not make it look as good as it does in the flesh.

Regards,

James.
