Am ragin though as a gust of wind blew some blue roll against the other one. And has left marks. It will have to stay now though as I'd need to start the whole process again  with another full kit or will look patchy.

Turned out quite well after the clearcoat. Am happy with the finish but will confess am not 100% sold on the colour yet.

Yes i remembered this time

Cover on and crank pulley in. Do have a new bolt for when it gets final torqued.

Rocketeer sump given a tickle of paint ready for fitting.

i also had some new adapter plates cut. These are the interface between the jag lower inlet and the ford inlet manifold. Mine were hand drilled and to be honest a bit of a mess so had these cut. Just need to do some port matching with the die grinder on the upper side.

If you need some cutting I used Octagon Precision. Rob was very helpful and unbelievably quick (24 hour turnround)

New sump looks a lot better. Nice work on the manifolds, too.

What are you using to paint the sump with? I'm considering painting my bare ally engine and sump with something in an effort to keep them looking clean, and yours looks clean but not overly painted if that makes sense?!

It's this stuff. Thinned a bit with cellulose thinners and sprayed with a small touch up spray gun. It does brush ok but I prefer the spray finish.

I used simoniz rattle cans previously but the paint wasn't great and a bit of petrol would dissolve it. The por15 stuff is loads better and as you say Its a nice subtle finish.

Entering the home stretch now.

Oil pick up fitted, new gasket and sump on.

also fitted a new oil temp sensor, this one is a gm sensor that emerald had suggested as it's 3/8npt so no adapter required. They also have the calibration for it. I've never really believed the sensor I currently had so will give a good comparison.

And it's in now in the car.

I'm waiting on a new rad so won't be starting it for a couple of weeks but once I've built it back up I'll spin it over to get oil pressure and make sure it doesn't destroy itself. 🤞
