Camera and mount

Hi all looking for a good camera and mount system, to record my runs and occasional track days. Ideally one that gets good sound and not just wind noise.

Is that what you use? Does it fit on the role bar OK?

Fits on my MSA roll bar fine.

I'll take photos next week if you wish - although might need reminding!

GoPro 5 onwards has the built in GPS so you can have a Speedo overlay etc.

wind noise can be combated with the cheap foam “jackets”

or mount an external lapel mic in the footwell.

This is a Hero7 black with the built in mike with the camera on the roll bar- wind noise

Same camera with lapel mic under dash- no wind noise

Note with a 7, you need to buy the official Gopro USB C adapter to use and external mic.  Not cheap but works! 3.5 mic to usb C

Mic doesn't need to be expensive- something like this should be fine- Lapel mic

Hi Ian, I have got all the bits that you shared the links for, but on my test videos all I'm getting is white noise for audio. I'm trying to figure out if its my settings that are wrong or I have a faulty item.

I have it set on standard mic, in the input/output part of the settings.

Perfect, same as me. I'll take a screen shot of mine, next time I'm in the garage. The camera is on my desk but you can't select the mic if it's not plugged in etc.

Does the mic work okay on your pc/hifi/phone?
