2004 Audi TT Roadster (225bhp Quattro version) **SOLD**

Bought this car from my sister in law in July (not thinking I was going to buy a Westfield so soon). It's spent most of the last 5 years sat in a centrally heated garage and only used occasionally. Cam belt and water pump change mid 2018 (only about 5,000 miles ago). Lots of receipts for work at an independent Audi specialist totalling about £3,000 over last 4 years.

Recent MOT and now at 99,000 miles (increasing a bit as I'm using it).

Excellent condition, recent new roof, original space saver spare wheel, still has original tool kit, also has hard cover for folded roof (very rare) and the wind deflector behind headrests.

Lovely clean interior with heated leather seats. Toasty, warm and comfortable (unlike Westfields) and the 4 wheel drive gives great grip in the Winter. Modern CD player fitted so it has USB socket for phone / bbc sounds etc and can connect to your phone for calls.

Only selling as I've now got the Westfield, a convertible landrover, too many bikes and all 5 garages are full up! Ideal Xmas present for someone. Looking for about £2,700 but may consider reasonable (ie close) offers. It's currently taxed and insured so roadtests not a problem.

Doesn't come with the private T2 plate, now re-registered as VA04 KTV as per picture 5.

Wheels could do with a refurb and central LED screen occasionally loses a few lines of pixels (common series 1 fault costs about £120 to replace but it's still legible).

  • 2 weeks later...

Sod's law at work.

First person to come for a viewing loved the car. I got in to reverse it out of the garage and ABS light and ESP light were both on. Got up to about 10 mph and all sorts of big flashing brake symbols and beeps.

Did a quick brake test and all was fine (well except for the abs not cutting in).

Plugged in my generic OBD2 reader and nothing found. Borrowed a VAG specific one and just got a generic looking code and a lack of contact with ABS control module. Having hoped for a wheel sensor this was looking serious.

Local independent garage specialising in Audi and Saab plugged into some grown up diagnostics - same message. Ahh, says mechanic, I've seen this before, it's either a lost 12v to the controller or a poor earth. Leave it with me.

two hours later he rings up and says sorted - the 12v line runs under the battery tray and the battery overflow dumps acid onto the loom causing corrosion, a voltage drop and eventually not enough voltage to switch the abs control module on so it won't talk to ECU or diagnostic kit. New wire spliced into loom, bill for £140 and we're all fixed. I was thinking of a new abs control module and about 5 hours labour to fit - so very happy.

bl**** modern cars with no access.

I bought this one after the Westfield sold, it had been standing for a long while so brakes were seized, then Ive also had to work through a nation of flashing lights! Its been a bit of a chore, but now after, rear callipers, N75 valve, Crank & Cam Sensor, latitude sensor, fuel pump, fuel filter, coil packs, tyres, wheel refurb and that just what springs to mind, its now running like a rocket, apart from the fact that after a week of no use the battery is flat again!

The ABS light was acting up but that was just a bit of rust on the rings, some spray and its gone off.
