No going back now - stock check day tomorrow and then the fun really starts!  Bodywork and seats are for collection at a later date.

Both floor panels on today:

Big day Saturday - chassis off the build stands and onto axle stands. Did it with 4 helpers plus attached the engine crane at the rear just in case... All went OK, so now I need to tidy up the wiring

Made a start on the tools list...

Ha ha, if that's all you buy, I'll be impressed 😉

Those drills are good. I only bought 2 and they are both still in good nick having nearly finished drilling rivet holes. My tools and consumable bill since I started now exceeds £1000 and I thought I had a few tools before I started.

Top tools are those drills, my air compressor and air rivet gun, my 500kg trestles and my old lady's cast off rechargeable dyson. Swarf gets everywhere.

Yes Henry the hoover with the brush attachment! Very good for collecting difficult to get swarf! My fave purchase has to be the Clecos but Iam sure you said you already have those

I have a question on cone drill bits - is a "standard" set of 3 covering 4 - 32mm what I need?

I already have Henry's Screwfix cousin buried at the back of garage...

Apologies for the size of the drill bits photo - I posted it from my phone and I've only just seen how huge it is on a PC!

Thanks

Stepped cone drills now acquired and here's a picture of a non-Zetec engine for Mike - I will admit to getting a specialist to set up the mechanical fuel injection when required, but I handle most other things myself, other than bodywork!

I've been busy over the Xmas & New Year break reading build diaries, clearing out the garage, painting walls (not doing that again in a hurry - what a PITA!) and laying some floor tiles (something I've wanted to do for years) in preparation for for the kit arrival w/c 18th January (lockdown permitting - I'll be checking with Westfield next week). Santa treated me to an air rivet gun and a nice new set of metric spanners plus a few other goodies and I've borrowed an engine crane from my TR group, so just need the kit now!

That's exciting Steve. It's the perfect lockdown activity.

I'm looking forward to the build and hopefully my diary will be up to the standard of others on here. It won’t be fast - I’m definitely a measure 10x before cutting/drilling sort of person! I’ve delayed taking delivery of the bodywork and seats for this reason.
