Wheels and Tyres

Looking to buy another set of wheels and tyres for track day use.

Any suggestions? I am currently running a Westfield SEI 2.0 on 205 50 15

Have been offered set of 4x100 15 inch with tyres on but getting mixed reviews on if these will fit?

Thanks

If it helps AFAIK most Westfields have 4x108 PCD associated to Ford hubs and Mazda SDVs have 4x100 PCD

Yes that’s about right. Unless it’s a Mazda SDV 100 pcd will not fit.

Depends on what you want to pay but maybe look at the Nankang AR1.

Or if you want a good tyre for all conditions including torrential rain

Also depends on wheel size.. 15*7" ?

Then 195*50*15 is good and what I run

Toyo r1r is a good tyre for road and track quite soft and wears quickly but good grip but not for torrential rain

Michelin pilot sport is excellent in heavy rain and ok in dry although not as much grip as r1r..but will last for ages and about 60 quid..

And if you're after something that'll cope with water too look at the Nankang NS2R as well.

@AdamR shall we explain our view?

I had tried to do that as one of your followers!

However you do it in a much better way.. plus I like any excuse to see a video of the lobster or other well driven car on opposite lock!

So please explain how you feel about road tyres!!

I'm bored of this now. Martyn and @Andrew have to take up the mantle 😄

I should probably make a video driving "properly" on the caravan tyres to show its not all about skids!

😄

i weren't that impressed with the AR-1s to be honest. i found the pressures when warm fluctuated alot. and i dont think they gave as much feedback or grip as the r888r. i used to set the pressure of the r888r and it would be the same all day

I also didn't realise the  Tokyo R888R is cheaper than the AR1s!
